End Times, How Close?

  The apostles believed and were expecting the return of Jesus so I guess you could say they believed that the end times were for them, however they didn't have complete understanding and neither do I. Truly every generation of true believers have expected the return of Jesus to the earth to set up his Kingdom and Jesus says this is the proper attitude to have. Jesus declares that we should be ready and expecting his return.  However, there are specific details in "Bible Prophecy" that would be in place just before his return. The details are in place now.  

  I would like to point out some of these details.

  As the Apostles beheld the beauty of the Temple, Jesus declared that all these things they beheld would be destroyed and within one generation just as Jesus said they were.

  Now it is common knowledge that Jerusalem was destroyed including the Temple in approximately 70 AD. And was only reborn as a nation in 1948.  Israel would have to be a nation before the return of the Lord. It is unheard of in history that a nation after being destroyed becomes a nation again. Jesus in parables referred to Israel as a fig tree.

   Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh: So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.

   What things?   

One of the keys is the fact that Israel has been reborn as a nation . In terms of time Israel will be a young nation when Jesus returns.

  The day that Jesus made this statement his disciples asked him specific questions: "And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?" (Matthew 24:3)

  Jesus describes the following as birth pains, just as a woman in labor, the pains become more frequent and severe the nearer the time of the birth. As with birth pains there are momentary rests between the pains.

  Jesus spoke of False Prophets posing as the Messiah. Since the time of Jesus history has been laden with such people. In recent time some remember the Rev. Sun Myung Moon and his unification church and the speeches former President Bush gave at sponsored unification meetings. In fact as recent as June 23, 2004 more than a dozen lawmakers attended a congressional reception this year honoring the Rev. Sun Myung Moon in which Moon declared himself the Messiah. This was reported in the Washington Post. Is there any doubt that Rev. Moon has deceived many? A false Messiah needs only be a false path to God such as Buddha or Muhammad. 

Did you know that there are over 300 fulfilled prophecies concerning Jesus being the Messiah? Besides his death, burial and resurrection, such prophecies include being betrayed for thirty pieces of silver, the dividing of his clothing by the Roman soldiers and the gambling for his coat, the piercing of his side by the Roman spear. This dispels the myth that Jesus went around manipulating scripture since for the last three prophecies mentioned Jesus was already crucified and in the last case had already died.

But thank God he is risen.

Jesus speaks of wars and rumors of war.

 Yes there has been war in all of recorded history but remember Jesus equates them as birth pains. The twentieth century saw more wars than in all of previously recorded history. Can you see the labor pains? I can only imagine what this generation will see. Just consider this Islamic Jihad, this will prove to dwarf the previous wars of recorded history.

Jesus says iniquity will abound in the days leading to his return.

Have you noticed that which was considered taboo only a few years ago has become accepted as "Mainstream" thinking, things such as the acceptance of Homosexuality now progressing to Same-sex marriage. Isn't it interesting that in the United States that there is seemingly a war against anything "Christian" yet any other religion is accepted, heck, Moslem prayers are even being taught in the schools of California, so much for the separation of church and state. In fact throughout the world there is an all out war on Christians. 

How many times have you watched criminals getting off on technicalities?

 The Genocide of Rwanda and the current Genocide in Uganda are appalling. The word "Genocide" almost has a sanitizing effect on the actual horror being experienced. The recent beheadings by these fundamentalist Moslems are a sign of things to come. In fact Iran is actively recruiting suicide bombers and are going to soon make it possible for these volunteers to register online. A little known fact about the Moslem faith is that the violence and the beheadings are the actual roots of Islam.  Tell me it doesn't sour your stomach? Birth pains folks, birth pains.  

Increase in earthquakes worldwide:

Jesus speaks of an increase of the frequency and magnitude of earthquakes all over the world. Our own government confirms that this is fact and although there may be a given year where there are less earthquakes than a previous year the general trend is on the increase and has drastically increased since the late 1960's. Interestingly enough Israel recaptured the Old City of Jerusalem in 1967 after the Arabs attacked them by surprise.  

Pestilence and famine:

 Is there any doubt about the increase of pestilences? Our scientists are extremely concerned with diseases becoming immune to our antibiotics:

 "Although resistant bacteria have been around a long time, the scenario today is different from even just 10 years ago, says Stuart Levy, M.D., president of the Alliance for the Prudent Use of Antibiotics. "The number of bacteria resistant to many different antibiotics has increased, in many cases, tenfold or more."- U.S.F.D.A.

 And what of AIDS, Went Nile Virus and Ebola, not to mention terrorist use of biological weapons?

 Famines are spoken of and history proves also an increase in these as well with the most significant increases occurring since 1880 thru the present time. Due to war, the Sudan is currently dealing with famine and the people being killed are none other than Christians. We will see worldwide famine. The Bible warns of basic food like bread costing a day's wages and this will not be too far off in the future.  

Upheaval in the weather: 

"Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken." (Luke 21:26)  

I want to point out the meaning of two words in the previous scripture I know some might have some confusion on this matter. The Holy Spirit spoke the understanding  to my spirit, but for those who want everything in black and white here it is:

  The word "Heavens"  in this verse means:

  "The aerial heavens or sky, the region where the clouds and the tempests gather, and where thunder and lightning are produced"

  The word "Shaken" in this verse means:

  "A motion produced by winds, storms, waves, etc"

  I understand the confusion some have understanding this however it is due to our carnal understanding interfering with the understanding the Holy Spirit gives. Trust the Holy Spirit.

"And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring." (Luke 21:25)

I'll ask you, is the weather becoming strange? Are there not more powerful storms hitting this planet with more frequency than in years past?  

Is it coincidence that these things are rapidly increasing since the rebirth of Israel?

"And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it." (Zechariah 12:3)

Has not Jerusalem become an international bone of contention?

"Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob's trouble, but he shall be saved out of it." (Jeremiah 30:7)

This is speaking of the battle of Armageddon, the Great War that Jesus himself returns to end and establish his kingdom on earth.

 The Gospel of the Kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

For the past two thousand years the Gospel of Jesus Christ has been preached to the world. Although it is never reported in the mainstream media the gospel of Jesus Christ has been preached worldwide and accepted in places like China, Russia with the largest Christian church in the world being in Asia. There is nowhere on the planet where Jesus has yet to be preached, the reason that the end has not come yet is simply and act of Mercy. Jesus is not willing that any should perish but that all should come to the knowledge of truth and have the opportunity for salvation. But I'm telling you he is not going to wait much longer.

The next event to take place will be the Catching away of the church of Jesus Christ. This event is known as the "Rapture" the removing of God's church from harms way. All who miss out on this blessing will be going through the "Great Tribulation" which is told in shocking detail in the Book of Revelation. Heavens gate will still be open to those who come to believe during this horrific time of trouble but they will be required to lay down their lives in faith and love for Jesus and a huge multitude will willingly do so.   Moments after the Rapture the awakening of Israel to the Gospel of Jesus Christ will begin with two prophets of God in Israel for the first time in two thousand years. These prophets will have authority over the weather so that it doesn't rain during the days or their testimony on earth and will be allowed to bring plagues of their choosing upon a Christ rejecting world. The antichrist will have them murdered and their bodies will lie in the streets of Jerusalem 3 1/2 days and people around the world will rejoice over their death sending gifts to one another in celebration.  After those 3 1/2 days God will raise them from the dead and their enemies will see this happen before their very eyes.  If this sounds "Out There" it is simply because you do not know the power of God.  

The Jewish Temple will be built on Temple Mount in Jerusalem on the same ground where once stood the two previous Jewish Temples.

This building of the Temple is interesting. In the book of Ezekiel in the 40th chapter, Ezekiel is taken into the future to the holy mountain, "Temple Mount" and Ezekiel sees something very strange on the south part of the Mount, it is a structure. In the King James Bible it is called a city, but the word for city really means a building like a public building. What was so strange to Ezekiel is that the only building on Temple Mount was the Jewish Temple but now he sees this strange structure. This structure is the Moslem Mosque complex and is the only structures on the Mount today besides what is left of the old temple foundation. Guess where the Mosque sits? It sits on the south part of the mount. Ezekiel is given the plans for a new Temple in painstaking detail and this temple will be larger than the previous Temples. What is so very interesting is that the plans of this new Temple have omitted the outer court of the Temple on the south side. Folks this was written 2500 years ago. The Apostle John in the Book of Revelation also declares the same thing and was written 1900 plus years ago.

 Jewish engineers have measured the plans for the new temple given to Ezekiel and have found that it fits exactly in the place where the Bible declares it will sit.  Did you know that there is a group currently collecting funds to build this Temple? In fact all the articles of worship are already built just waiting to be placed in the Temple.

In this Temple within the place called the Holy of Holies is where the humanist antichrist will take seat declaring to the world that he is god, or at the very least that he is above all that is called god. This desperate deed of antichrist will be the final straw so to speak that breaks the “global camel’s back” as the final judgments of God Almighty, also known as the Wrath of the Lamb are unleashed on a Christ rejecting world. The Christ rejecting world is going to worship the antichrist and his global kingdom. The judgments of wrath are also the final birth pains of the coming Kingdom of God on earth. Jesus will establish his kingdom in person.  

The Bible speaks of this antichrist causing all who dwell on the earth to receive a mark in their right hand or in their forehead. Without this mark you won't be able to buy or sell or even hold a job. This mark is the progression of our current account code on our bankcards. In case you are wondering, yes the technology exists to transfer an identification mark in your skin. Today in certain hospitals patients are injected with an RFID chip, which monitors everything from heart rate to body temperature. Also the entire lifetime medical records of that patient can be stored via this microchip. The producer of this chip has already engaged the financial world about its use in banking. “And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.” –Rev. 13:16-17  

Here is another interesting fact; the Bible speaks of a war in the Middle East that will include Russia and a host of other nations, which will also include countries such as Iran, Iraq, Syria, Saudi Arabia, all of black Africa and Libya, attacking Israel. But the point I would like to bring to your attention is found in the following scripture quote:

"And they that dwell in the cities of Israel shall go forth, and shall set on fire and burn the weapons, both the shields and the bucklers, the bows and the arrows, and the handstaves, and the spears, and they shall burn them with fire seven years" - (Ezekiel 39:9)

Did you know that the Russian army for a number of years has been experimenting with a new plastic called "Ligonite" That is much harder than steel, is almost impenetrable by armor piercing shells and much lighter than steel. This makes it an ideal armor for tank and personnel carriers. The one drawback is that when it catches on fire, it burns with an intensity that is hotter than that of anthracite coal.  

The Apostle John describes Nuclear War.

"And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood; And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind. And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places. And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?" (Rev. 6:12-17)

Here is a first century man describing 21^st century events in terms of first century knowledge. He says he saw the atmosphere rolling over on itself, a "Mushroom cloud" and the vacuum created by such an explosion. John saw the stars fall from heaven, an all out nuclear exchange. Scientists know that after such an exchange that the debris in the atmosphere would blot out sunlight and if it blots out sunlight then the moonlight will not be seen since moonlight is just a reflection of sunlight.  

"But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased." (Daniel 12:4)

Another Key to the end time is that there will be a knowledge explosion. This is a two-fold prophecy. Can anyone deny that since 1900 that knowledge has dramatically increased? Consider all the wonders of technology. Broadcasting overseas to another continent via satellite only came into existence in 1968, now, we think nothing of using a cell phone to call Japan (Ok it depends on your calling plan) but truly the marvels of science are astounding. We send spacecraft to the ends of our solar system. Amazing isn't it?

The second "Fold" of that prophecy is the understanding of the details of end time events. You wouldn't understand it until it was upon you.

 "Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand." (Daniel 12:10)  

So how close do you think we are?

 Surely now that I have pointed out a small portion of these details you have to at least be curious enough to find out for yourself.

 Yes the Temple is yet to be built but the Rapture will take place before this happens. The reason for this is simply because Jesus promised to take his church out of harms way before the "Great Tribulation" Jesus says he is coming at an hour when you do not expect him. Jesus is coming for his church at a period of time that you could refer to as the calm before the storm, a time when you are going about doing the everyday things of life.

"But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. But know this, that if the good man of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up. Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh." (Matthew 24:37-44)

So again I say, how close are we?

I realize that many churches do not even speak of the return of Jesus or the Rapture of his church, let alone the events of the tribulation yet all of these are written in the Bible.

You can know the truth for yourself. Invite Jesus into your life.  Whether you are a diehard atheist or churchgoer living empty, going through the motions, Jesus will not turn you away. This was not written to scare anyone. This text just merely scratches the surface of these events however, these are the facts and you can confirm all of these things on your own. Keep this in mind; there is no other time in history where all these things could come together at the same time.  

"Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me."
