The Taube Family
as related to the Jaffke Family
Two brothers, Richard and Frederick Taube, emigrated with their wives from Germany and arrived in Toledo, Ohio in 1880. Their parents' names, as well as those of any siblings, are as of yet not known. On September 30, 1887, Frederick Taube made the following declaration for citizenship:

The State of Ohio,
Lucas County,
Be it known that on the 30th day of September in the year of our Lord One Thousand, Eight Hundred and Eighty Seven personally appeared before the Judge and Clerk of the Court of Probate, in and for said County of Lucas Frederick Taube and made solemn oath that he first arrived in the United States in the month of November A. D. 1880, and that it is his bona-fide intention to become a Citizen of the United States of America, and absolutely and entirely to renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to every Foreign Prince, Potentate, State of Sovereignty, whatsoever, and particulerly to The Emperor of Germany of whom he was then subject.
In Testimony Whereof, I J W Cummings Judge and Clerk of said Court have hereunto set my hand and seal of said Court, this 30th day of September A. D. 1887.

Richard Taube was born about 1850 in Pommerania. He married Bertha Milke (also spelled Muelke).

- Emma Ida Taube, born June 11, 1892 in Toledo, Lucas County, Ohio.
- Clement August Wilhelm Taube, born September 15, 1895 in Toledo, Lucas County, Ohio.
Frederick W. Taube was born in 1856, probably in or near Gross Dubsow, Stolp, Pommerania; he died in 1942 in Toledo, Lucas County, Ohio. He married Emmaline Augusta Zupke, daughter of Heinrich Zupke and Henriette Karoline Schroeder. She was born May 6, 1860, probably in Gross Dubsow, Stolp, Pommerania, and died April 1, 1937 in Toledo, Lucas County, Ohio.
