Dear Dean of Students:

Most college and university administrators and faculty members are aware of their students' unevenness of preparation for the serious academic demands expected of students in higher education.

One way in which students can strengthen their academic study/reading performance is through participation in the Baldridge Reading and Study Strategy Program. In this program, students develop greater competence and confidence in combining highly effective techniques into efficient study strategies on a cross-curriculum basis. An important characteristic of the Baldridge Program is the use of each student's academic course materials (textbooks, original sources and lecture notebooks) as the central medium of instruction.

Numerous classes each day make it very convenient for the students to attend. The program is taught during Fall and Winter semesters at mutually agreed-upon dates. One-week Summer programs are also available.

If you desire more information concerning this unique program, please feel free to call me at 330/908-3419 or send me an e-mail at brssmid@msn.com. We are currently scheduling one- and two-week programs for 2004-05. Upon your request, I will send a proposal containing additional information on free campus-wide workshops, characteristics of the program, statistical gains, references, etc.

I look forward to hearing from you in the near future.

Sincerely,

David L. Hungerford
