i don't know what to do
my choices are very few
messed up ran out of luck
who cares don't give a fuck
gonna do whatever comes to mind
leave my rotten past behind
filled my tank full of gas
drove away real fast
left all my problems in the dust
i'm either gonna make it and take it all
or i'm gonna bust and continue to fall
rolled down my window
looked in the mirror
seen the wear and tear
of sleepless nights
looked for city lights
pulled over at the next exit
drove to a motel
seen a beautiful women behind the counter
she simply said "so tell me what's wrong?"
she must have seen the pain in my eyes
before long i opened up
she took it all in
and said "sometimes you win and sometimes you lose
if only you got to choose"
it was getting late
i asked her on a date
she said when her shift is done
said come back around one
some more people walked in
i said thanks and goodbye
she said "you're welcome, see you later"
i walked to my room
i heard her greet the new arrivals
i wondered if she would greet them the same
she sounded sweet but i could hear a difference
it made me feel good inside
i was glad i had someone to confide in

set my alarm, went to sleep
woke up, got something to eat
took a shower, combed my hair
couldn't decide what to wear
put on some dockers
and an old dress shirt
drank some coffee to be alert
wondered if i should flirt

it was now five til
i went to see her
i passed a gift store
had time so i bought her a gift
a teddybear and some flowers
i went to where she was
she wasn't there i waited for hours
finally i talked to the manager
apparently she had to go
to where i don't know
i sat in the waiting room
stared at the full moon
fell asleep and when i woke up
i was in her lap
her hand was on my head
she said she didn't want to wake me
i looked to peaceful
all of a sudden i said i love you
she said i do too
the next day we got married
i got a job,settled down
in this small town
had kids
was a loving husband and dad
i'm either gonna make it and take it all
or i'm gonna bust and continue to fall
later i found out where she went
she had gone to her parents
asking what it felt like when they met
when they knew they were in love
she said she felt the same feeling when she saw me
now i have a family
all because i had gotten fired
because i worked harder then his son
luckily i picked the right town to drive into
now i know everything happens for a reason
i'm either gonna make it and take it all
or i'm gonna bust and continue to fall
