The Millennial Fair

1.Visit Leene Square.

A. As you begin the game, you will be asked to choose the battle mode (either Active or Wait). Then you will have an opportunity to change Crono's name. (Push the A Button to select a letter, press Start to begin.)

B. You will start the game in Crono's bedroom. After you get out of bed, go downstairs and talk to Crono's mother. You'll now have the option of changing Lucca's name.

C. Before you go outside, be sure you talk to Crono's mother to get his allowance (200 gold).

D. When you leave Crono's House, you will appear on the Overworld Screen. Walk to the left and up to reach Leene Square (where the Millennial Fair is in progress). When the words "Leene Square" appear on the screen, press the A Button to enter the area.

2. Bump into Marle and retrieve her pendant.

A.When you first enter Leene Square, walk straight up until you see a girl (Marle) walking around a bell.

B. When you walk up to her, both Crono and Marle will fall to the ground. In the process, Marle will drop her Pendant.

C. Once you get up, retrieve Marle's pendant (by pushing the A button) and give it back to her. (If you want to play it safe, check on Marle first, THEN get the pendant). You'll have a chance to change Marle's name before proceeding, then she'll join you.

D. Before you see Lucca's machine you might want to take some time to enjoy the festivities at the fair. Don't forget to talk to the little girl who is looking for her cat. The cat is near Gato (the training machine). Talk to it once and it will follow you back over to the little girl.

3. See Lucca's Teleport Machine.

A. After Marle joins you, go down to the fountain in the middle of the square. Talk to the girl sitting on the right side of the fountain and she'll say that Lucca is ready to demonstrate her new invention.

B. Go to the top of Leene Square (to where two "guards" were). You'll have to stop, because Marle wants to buy some candy. Let her take her time! Stand still, and wait for her to finish, then go up to see Lucca's invention.

4. Follow Marle back to 600 A.D.

A. When you first enter the northernmost area of the fair, you'll see two "telepods." Go up and talk to Lucca (the girl with glasses). She'll have Crono try out her invention. Walk into the left telepod and you'll get zapped over to the right one.

B. After the successful teleport, talk to Marle. She will want to try it out too. When she does, she'll be swallowed into a time portal and disappear.

C. When Marle disappears, her pendant will be left behind on the left telepod. Walk over to it and you will automatically be sent off to 600 A.D. to find her.

The Queen Returns

Go to Guardia Castle and see Marle.

1. When you come out of the time portal, you will be attacked by three Blue Imps. Defeat them, then go to the left.

2. Work your way up, left, down, right, and down, to exit Truce Canyon. Now you will be on the Overworld Screen in 600 A.D.

3. Walk down, left, and up to reach Guardia Forest. Work your way through the forest to reach Guardia Castle.

4. Inside the castle, you'll be greeted by a couple of soldiers and "Queen Leene." Follow her up through the double doors into the throne room. Go up the right side and up four flights of stairs to reach the top. Go down, left and up into the room to find Marle.

The Queen is Gone

1.Have Lucca join you and journey to the Cathedral.

A. When you talk to Marle, she'll suddenly disappear. Go back to the bottom floor of the castle and you'll meet by Lucca.

B. Lucca will explain why Marle disappeared and what you need to do in order to save her, and join you.

C. Exit Guardia Castle and go back through Guardia Forest. On the Overworld screen, walk down, left, and up to reach the Cathedral.

2. Have Frog join you and rescue the real queen.

A. Go to the top part of the Cathedral and talk to the "lady" there. This will make a "sparkle" appear in the center of the room. Go up to the sparkle and press the A Button to find Leene's hairpin.

B. After you find the pin, you will encounter four monsters (Naga-ette). Defeat them, then Frog will drop down. Before he joins, you have the option of changing his name.

C. Go to the organ in the upper-left corner of the Cathedral and press the A Button to make a secret door appear. Go through the door to enter the inner part of the Cathedral.

D. Work your way through the Cathedral to find the real queen and Yakra, the first boss. Once you defeat him, you'll automatically be taken back to Guardia Castle.

YAKRA

Description: A yellow "potato bug" type monster.

Suggested Level / Party: Level 7 Crono / Frog / Lucca

Total HP: 1,000

How To Defeat (with the party suggested above):

1. Use X Strike and/or Fire Whirl to attack Yakra.

2. Use Slurp or Tonics to keep your party healed up.

3. Return to Guardia Castle to get Marle.

A. After you return to Guardia Castle, you'll appear before the king and queen. Frog will leave your party (for the time being).

B. Go up the right side and up four flights of stairs to reach the top of the Castle. Go down, left, and up into the room to find Marle again. She'll rejoin your party.

C. After you exit Guardia Castle, go back through Guardia Forest then return to Truce Canyon (where you entered this time period).

We're Back!

Return to 1000 A.D. and take Marle home.

1. At Truce Canyon, go to the left, up, right, down, and right to the portal where you first arrived in 600 A.D. Lucca will reveal that she has a "Gate Key" and you'll all return to 1000 A.D.

2. Once you return to Leene Square, Lucca will tell you to escort Marle home to Guardia Castle.

3. Exit Leene Square and go through Guardia Forest to reach Guardia Castle.

Note: The portal between 1000 A.D. and 600 A.D. remains open, but there is no need to venture back to 600 A.D. at this point in the game.

The Trial

Go through a Trial and get thrown into prison.

1. Upon entering Guardia Castle you will be accused of being a "terrorist" and immediately be put on trial.

Trial Specifics:

During the trial, some things that you may have done earlier in the game at Leene Square may be admitted into evidence. What you did or didn't do has no bearing upon what the outcome is.

NOTE: Even if you are found Not Guilty, you WILL be thrown in prison and you WILL be "accidentally" scheduled for execution. It's a fact of life that the bad guys don't give you a break (in this game).

YOU WILL BE TAKEN TO JAIL, NO MATTER WHAT THE VERDICT IS.

If you want to be found "Not Guilty" you would have had to do (or not do) these five things at Leene Square, and answer the questions at the trial accordingly. Keep in mind that even though you will be found "not guilty", you will be sent to jail.

What To Do and What Not To Do:

1. See if Marle is all right before you get the Pendant.

2. Return the little girl's cat.

3. Don't eat the old man's lunch.

4. Don't try to persuade Marle to sell her Pendant.

5. Don't move when Marle stops for candy.

Provide the following answers at the trial:

1.Marle did.

2.No.

3.Not at all.

2. After the trial, you will be taken to a prison cell. You will have two choices while you're in the cell:

Wait for Execution Day OR Break out of Jail

Note: The only differences are that you will begin at a different starting point in the prison and Lucca will join you earlier if you wait for the execution day.

If you decide to bust out, walk up to the door and press Down on the Control Pad three times. The guard will tell you to "Pipe Down," then enter the cell to "teach you a lesson." As the guard starts to leave the cell, run out the door ahead of him and press the A Button to escape.

3. Work your way out of the prison and meet up with the second boss, the Dragon Tank.

THE DRAGON TANK

Description: A mechanical tank in the shape of a dragon.

Suggested Level / Party: Level 9 Crono / Lucca

Total HP: Grinder (wheel) 250

Head 700

Body 300

How to Defeat (with the party suggested above):

1. Use regular attacks on the Grinder until it's destroyed.

2. Use Tonics and Mid Tonics to keep your party healthy.

3. Keep using regular attacks on the Body and Head until the tank is destroyed.

Beyond the Ruins

1.Escape Guardia Castle and go to 2300 A.D.

A. Once you have destroyed the Dragon Tank, go down the four flights of stairs to the bottom of the castle. Go down and right to meet up with Marle again.

B. You will automatically run out of the castle. Go all the way to the right and enter the time portal to be taken to 2300 A.D.

C. When you come out of the portal, you will be inside Bangor Dome. Walk straight down through the doorway to appear on the Overworld Screen.

2. Go to Arris Dome.

After you exit Bangor Dome, go to the right and up to reach Lab 16. Work your way through and go to the right to reach Arris Dome.

Note: Nothing can be done at Lab 32 or the Sewer Access at this point in time. You must go to Arris Dome.

3. Go to the food storage room and get the Seed.

A. Inside Arris Dome, head down the staircase in the middle of the room. You'll be stopped by Doan (the leader) and wished "good luck."

B. As you go down into the basement, you will have to fight a boss (Guardian). After you defeat it, go straight up into the food storage room.

GUARDIAN

Description: A huge robotic "thing" with two small pods on either side of it.

Suggested Level / Party: Level 10 Crono/Marle/Lucca

Total HP: Bits: 250 each

Guardian: 1,200

How to Defeat (with the party suggested above):

1. Destroy the two Bits with regular attacks.

2. Attack the Guardian itself with regular attacks after the bits are gone.

3. A timer will start counting down from 5. When it reaches zero, the two Bits will be revived.

4. Use Tonics, if necessary, to keep your party healthy.

C. After you get the Seed from the dead man, you need to go to the Info Center.

Note: You must catch the rat and get the password in order to create the pathway to the Info Center (even if you already know the password).

4. Go to the Info Center.

A. Use the password you got from the rat, to go to the Info Center.

B. At the Info Center, you will learn where you need to go next and what happens to the world in the future. Return to Doan and give him the Seed. He will give you the Bike Key, which will allow you to go across Lab 32.

Note 1: You must have the Bike Key in order to cross Lab 32.

Note 2: Don't go to the Sewer Access yet. Concentrate on going through Lab 32.

5. Go through Lab 32.

A. Once you have the Bike Key and enter Lab 32, you will be greeted by a robot called "Jonny". He will challenge you to a bike race to the other side.

B. You must race Jonny at least once. After that, you can walk across Lab 32 to the other side or you can challenge him again.

6. Go to Proto Dome to get Robo.

A. Once you make it across Lab 32, you will reappear on the Overworld Screen. Walk to the right and down to reach Proto Dome.

B. Inside Proto Dome, go straight up to find a broken-down robot. Lucca will fix him, then you'll be given the option of changing Robo's name.

C. Robo will join your party and you will have to leave either Marle or Lucca behind. Now you have to go to the Factory to restore the power so you can open the inner door to the time portal.

The Factory Ruins

Go to the Factory to turn on the power.

1. Walk straight up from Proto Dome to reach the Factory. Inside, go up to the computer and press the A Button. Robo will automatically disarm the security beam to the right.

2. Work your way through the Factory until you come to the R-Series Guardians.

R-SERIES GUARDIANS

Description: A group of six blue robots that look like Robo.

Suggested Level / Party: Level 10 Crono / Marle

Total HP: 180 per robot

How to Defeat (with the party suggested above):

1. Have Crono attack the robots with Cyclone.

2. Have Marle use Aura to keep you healed up.

The End of Time

Go to The End of Time.

1. After defeating the R-Series robots, you'll automatically return to Proto Dome. After Robo is repaired, you will enter a portal that will take you to The End of Time.

2. Talk to the old man at The End of Time. Then, you must choose one party member to leave behind.

Note: You can switch characters at almost any time by pushing the Y Button.

3. Walk toward the wooden door on the left and the old man will want to talk to you further. Talk to the old man and he will open the door behind him (the one that's locked shut). This will take you to Spekkio.

4. Talk to Spekkio, then walk around the room three times. Be sure to touch all four corners on each trip around the room! Spekkio will teach you magic.

5. Now you are ready to take the right portal from The End of Time to Medina Village - 1000 A.D.

The Village of Magic

1. Go through the Heckran Cave at 1000 A.D.

A. When you come out of the portal, you'll find yourself inside a house. Exit the house and you'll be on the Overworld Screen.

Note: If you took a different Portal and are in a different Time Period, return to The End of Time and go through the right portal (Medina Village - 1000 A.D.). It's the only way to progress in the game at this time.

B. On the Overworld Screen, go down and to the left. Melchior's Hut will be near the southwest tip of the continent.

C. Enter Heckran Cave (it's just above Melchior's Hut). Work your way through the cave and you'll come to a boss (Heckran).

HECKRAN

Description: A big lizard creature with claws and with spikes on his back.

Suggested Level / Party: Level 12 Crono / Marle / Lucca

Total HP: 2,100

How to Defeat (with the party suggested above):

1. Attack him only with magic (Lightning, Ice, and Fire) because physical attacks won't hurt him.

2. Use Aura Whirl and Mid Tonics to keep your party healthy.

D. After you defeat Heckran, go straight up to warp to Lucca's House.

2. Go through the time portal at Leene Square.

A. After you defeat Heckran and visit Lucca's House, return to Lucca's invention at Leene Square.

B. There's now a Time Portal in Leene Square. It leads to The End of Time. Two additional Portals will also be open at The End of Time.

C. Go through the top right Portal to Truce Canyon - 600 A.D.

The Hero Appears

Destroy Zombor at Zenan Bridge.

1. Once you're back in 600 A.D., exit Truce Canyon to get to the Overworld Screen.

2. Go down, left, and down to reach Zenan Bridge. When you arrive, talk to the Knight Captain to learn that the troops' rations have run out.

3. Go through Guardia Forest to reach Guardia Castle. Talk to the chef in the right basement. When you are about to leave the castle, he will stop you and give you Jerky (rations for the soldiers) and a Power Tab.

4. Take the Jerky to the soldiers at Zenan Bridge and then they will ask you to join in the fight against Magus's army. (Make sure you give them the Jerky.)

5. Go all the way left across the bridge to fight a guardian (Zombor). Once you defeat him, you will have access to the southern continent.

ZOMBOR

Description: A big two-piece skeleton.

Suggested Level / Party: Level 12: Crono / Marle / Lucca

Total HP: Top 1,000

Bottom 1,000

How to Defeat (with the party suggested above):

1. Use Antipode to destroy the top of the skeleton.

2. Use Fire Whirl and regular attacks to destroy the bottom.

3. Use Aura Whirl or Mid Tonics to keep your party healthy.

Tata and the Frog

1. Get the Broken Sword at the Denadoro Mts.

A. After you defeat Zombor, walk all the way down and enter the Cursed Woods. Go to the top and walk behind the top bush (it's a darker green than the others) to enter Frog's Lair.

B. Talk to Frog until he sends you on your way. Leave the Cursed Woods and go to the Denadoro Mts.. to get the broken Masamune sword.

C. At the top, you will have to fight a boss (Masa and Mune) in order to get the sword. After you defeat them, you will automatically be taken back to the bottom of the mountain.

MASA and MUNE

Description: Two little elves that eventually transform into a big yellow horned giant.

Suggested Level / Party: Level 15 Crono / Marle / Lucca

Total HP: 1,000 each (you only have to defeat one)

3,600 when they combine (after one has been defeated)

How to Defeat (with the party suggested above):

1. Use Fire Sword and Napalm on Mune (the right one).

2. Use Aura Whirl and Mid Tonics to heal up as necessary.

3. After you defeat one of them, they will join together.

4. Continue to use Fire Sword and Napalm on Masa and Mune to defeat them.

2. Go to Tata's House to get the Hero Medal.

After you defeat Masa and Mune you must go to Tata's House to retrieve the Hero Medal.

3. Visit Frog at the Cursed Woods and get the Broken Hilt.

A. Now that you have the Medal, go back the Cursed Woods and talk to Frog. Note: You must have the Hero Medal to proceed in the game.

B. Frog will move away from the acorn so you can get the Broken Hilt. Take the Sword and the Hilt to Melchior in 1000 A.D.

The Rare Red Rock

Go to Melchior's Hut at 1000 A.D.

1. Now that you have the Hero Medal and the Broken Sword and Broken Hilt, return to Truce Canyon and take the Portal to The End of Time.

2. Take the middle right portal to return to Medina Village - 1000 A.D. Go to Melchior's Hut to get some advice about the Masamune and what to do next.

3. Return to The End of Time and take the middle left Portal to Mystic Mts.. - 65,000,000 B.C.

Note: You must talk to Melchior before you go to 65,000,000 B.C. Otherwise, you won't be able to progress any further.

Footsteps! Follow!

Get Ayla and explore the Reptile Lair.

1. When you arrive at 65,000,000 B.C., you'll have to fight a group of Reptiles. After the fight, Ayla will come and introduce herself. You will have an opportunity to change her name.

2. Follow Ayla and exit the Mystic Mts.. to the Overworld Screen. Go to the right and up to reach the Chief's Hut (where Ayla is).

3. Ayla will throw a party in your honor at the Meeting Site. When you wake up in the morning, you'll notice that the Gate Key is gone. Go to the Chief's Hut to have Ayla join you.

4. Go through the Forest Maze to reach the Reptile Lair. Go through the Reptile Lair to reach a guardian (Nizbel).

NIZBEL

Description: A muscular horned dinosaur that stands upright.

Suggested Level / Party: Level 15 Crono / Ayla / Marle

Total HP: 4,500

How to Defeat (with the party suggested above):

1. Have Crono use Lightning to lower Nizbel's defense.

2. Use Ice Sword and regular attacks while his defense is low.

3. Use Aura Whirl and Mid Tonics to keep healed up.

The Masamune!

1. Return to Melchior and repair the Masamune Sword.

A. After you defeat Nizbel, return to the Mystic Mts.. and go back to The End of Time. Take the middle right portal and go to Melchior's Hut - 1000 A.D.

B. When you arrive, talk to Melchior. He will go downstairs and repair the Masamune for you.

 2. Return to Frog and have him join you.

A. After the Masamune is repaired, return to The End of Time. Take the top right portal to Truce Canyon - 600 A.D.

B. Go to the Cursed Woods and enter Frog's Lair. Since you now have the Masamune and the Hero Medal, Frog will join your party.

Note: Remember to return to Spekkio at The End of Time so that Frog can learn magic.

3. Go to the Magic Cave.

A. From Fiona's Villa go directly right, to the mountain.

B. Frog will open a secret cave leading to Magus's Lair.

Magus' Castle

Go through Magus's Lair and destroy Magus.

1. When you emerge from the Magic Cave, you'll be standing in front of Magus's Lair.

2. Work your way through the lair and fight Flea, Slash and Ozzie to reach Magus. When you defeat Magus, you'll automatically be taken back to 65,000,000 B.C.

FLEA

Description: A caped magician.

Suggested Level / Party: Level 20 Crono / Marle / Frog

Total HP: 4,200

How to Defeat (with the party suggested above):

1. Use X Strike and have Frog attack with the Masamune as much as possible.

2. Use Aura Whirl and Mid Tonics to keep healed up.
