US presidents
Faces and what they tell us
1. President: George Washington, 1789 - 1797. Fed.
3. President: Thomas Jefferson, 1801 - 1809. Dem-Rep.
7. President: Andrew Jackson, 1829 - 1837. Dem.
quote: "To his friends he was generous, considerate, and above
all loyal; to his enemies, meanspirited and spiteful. While
New England supported his opponent adams. The West was behind
Jackson.
The dual with Charles Dickinson in 1806 had left him with a
bullet that could never be removed.
16. President: Abraham Lincoln, 1861 - 1865. Rep.
18. President: Ulysses S. Grant, 1869 - 1877. Rep.
War hero Ulysses S. Grant wasn't as succesfull in the
presidency as he had been on the battlefield. Speculators
Fisk and Gould engulfed his administration in scandal - even
though he was incorruptuble.
30. President: Calvin Coolidge, 1923 - 1929. Rep.
"Silent cal Coolidge" cut taxes 4 times and steered the US through the
greatest growth and prosperity ever.
32. President: Roosevelt, 1933 - 1945. Dem.
40. President: Ronald Reagan, 1980 - 1988. Rep.
After the Nixon presidency failures and the the two
"nobody's" - Ford and Carter - it was time for an all american
good guy.
42. President: Bill Clinton, 1992 - 2000. Dem.
And here is the point to this whole page:
Look at the faces. Look at the depts of the persona.
Bill Clinton was a nice kid from Arkansas - and they made
him president because he was nice. padded children
on the head and soforth.
The founding fathers saw themselfes in the light of posterity.
Look at their faces.
Our generation took a "nice guy" and thought it would be
OK.
Precious time and opportunity was wasted.
In reality an insult to both the founding fathers and
posterity.
