Affiliates
Would you like to make some serious money but don't know how? The Internet is a breeding ground for new commerce and innovative ways to do the same thing with new technology, make money! There are programs out there that will pay you on average $10-$25 for people that click on banners and sign up for membership programs such as email services, or horoscope, etc.. And that doesn't include referrals! If you refer other people and they sign up under your member ID you can get paid for a portion of their profits that they reap from signing up others. Why not get paid if you have already have a personal webpage? All of this is done today with the help of ad banner advertising where companies such as Amazon, Commission Junction, Linkshare, CNET, etc. are paid for ads that others view or click on. Then they split their profits with you. Millions of websites are getting something out of it, shouldn't you?
Affiliates are people who become a member of a companies' advertising campaign by displaying links or advertisements (which the companies give to you so you don't have to spend time making them). You can earn a lot of dough from these guys and it adds up. Some companies will pay you for people that click their banner. (Their reason is to get people to look at their site because people are more likely to store the site mentally and recall the ad banner where they got it from when they need it.) These people pay "per-click", that is everytime you click on the banner to view their content someone gets paid. Others such as Amazon will pay you if you are an affiliate only for "click-throughs". This means a person clicks on a Amazon.com banner on your site and goes to the Amazon site to purchase an item like a book. If you can actually get someone to do that they will definitely pay more. Some companies pay you around 13% commission or more. Others pay you about a hundred or so dollars per click-through and it can get really high, examples are credit card sites or hotel selling sites. Click throughs are similar to "pay-per-lead" where you have to get the visitors to the other person's page. Then there are some that pay "per-impression". That is when the webmaster does nothing but display an ad on a webpage. Usually you have to have a certain number of people that come to your site before it is counted as an impression. For example, those that pay per impresion usually require at least a thousand or so visitors to view your site before you get something like 15 cents. If you have a high traffic site these can all work to your advantage. See for yourself and find out how much you could earn per-click-through. It may just surprise you! |
I recommend to anyone interested in money to make a site about anything, become an affiliate and put ad banners on your site. It can mean a little money, maybe not much, but it'll add up... It's better than nothing.

Surf for cash
There are other programs out there that will pay you on average 50 cents an hour to surf the Internet actively for free. And that doesn't include referrals! If you refer other people and they sign up under your member ID you can get paid for their surf time. Why not get paid to do something that you do already?! With the help of ad banner advertising companies such as Alladvantage, Getpaid, Valuepay, Bepaid, Adsenger, etc. are paid for ads that others view or click on. Then they split their profits with you. With many companies that have over a million members, you can be sure you'll get something out of it.
Some other good ideas to make money off of the web are the cash for surfing programs. Right now I am subscribed under Alladvantage, Bepaid, Cashsurfers, Valuepay, Adsenger, and Advision. The Bepaid, Adsenger, and Advision are a bit different from the others because you have to view big flash animation ads in order to receive payment, and they don't always have a lot of them, but those that you do see are worth more. Check out my Surf for cash page.
Advantages of both programs
There are certain advantages to both affiliate and surf-to-get-paid. With surf-to-get-paid programs you kind of need to own a computer to get paid. That way you can download the software that puts an ad window on your computer. You might be able to do it at some public computers but I recommend you download only to you own computer. With the affiliate program all you need is a web page. If you have 30 minutes to spare here and there you can make a web page from a public library without downloading any files and be afraid of modifying a computer that isn't yours. (This was written in mind that not everyone owns a computer yet. But most everyone has access to Internet access from libraries or a college campus now a days.) All you have to do is make a good looking page, sign up with the affiliate banner company and put the code on your site. Then submit your site to major search engines as Altavista... Make sure you have a place to send the check! That is preferably a house address! You don't have to physically be on the computer to make money like you do with the surf for pay programs which require that you are actually on your computer and clicking from page to page. Here is a little table summary of both programs. Of course you don't need to necessarily choose one or the other. You can have both if you wish, depending on how much time you want to devote to each. Another good website to check out is The Webmaster's Forum which has many excellent resources for webpage builders.
Affiliates | Surf for cash |
---|---|
Requires a web page, not necessarily a computer | Pretty much requires your own computer |
With a good site you can make cash 24/7 without a computer | Requires that you actually be on the computer to make money |
Requires a home address (or checking account) | Requires a home address |
Some allow referrals | Allows referrals |
Can make you from1 cent to $25 or more, or percentage of the company sales | Most max out or have an upper limit of $1 or $2 an hour |
Both can work. If your website is spectacular and raking in tons of people that click the banners (like they were labrats being fed food by pressing a lever) then the affiliate is probably a good choice. But if few people come to your site and you have a bunch of relatives who can be your referral downline then surf for cash may be for you, especially if you are one of those computer nerds that spend tons of time surfing the net like it was your job... Not that there is anything wrong with being a computer nerd! *<8^D
