A Desolate Plane

The year is 2034. You are stranded on an island on the planet Ioquhyste and locked inside a heavily guarded alien compound. You are desparately trying to find a way out of the fortress maze. However, one false step could mean disaster. You have a small radio transceiver that you brought with you. It seems out of range. You also have a small pistol with six bullets, a canister of water, and a pack of rations.

About a week ago you were sent by your superiors of the Federal Space Patrol (FSP) to locate a strange disturbance twenty degrees west of Ioquhyste, a small rusty wasteland pumped with artificial oxygen. You remember all too well as you plummeted toward the planet, caught by a weird gravitational pull from one of the nearby orbiting moons.

"Mayday! Mayday! Systems critical: unknown energy field... " were the last words as AGNES, your Artificial Guidance and Navigational Engine System, choked and shut down. No distress signal got through. You were cut off and alone.

You crashed nearby a swamp and managed to recover whatever was left of your belongings and walked off toward the crumbled down building. It was lucky that you knew that no intelligent life was known to exist on this planet. As you recall, Ioquhyste was used as a military base before it was retired by the FSP. Seeking shelter you entered the main base. Graptorzes were known to come out at night. These were small lizard like animals with two razor sharp taloned legs and skin wings.

This morning you woke up having decided to sleep in a cramped closet built in the sleeping lounge, just in case. After breakfast (water and half a ration) you noticed the security lights to the doors were on. Either they had been activated when you came in or something else had happened. You decide to not think too much about it, yet a drop of sweat appears on your forehead as you discover the security is reverse what it should be. You are locked in. Your radio hasn't been helpful so you arm up and decide to find the military bases' radio control center in hopes that it might still work.

You have wandered for hours. There doesn't seem to be anyone on the island. Or so you think. But you're on guard. Finally you come to a control panel and what looks like a door. It is strange and seems alien. Yet you know that the control center should be around this area. Every other room seems empty so you decide to take a chance. There are two buttons. One is red with a small swirl on it. The other is blue with a vertical slash insignia and a small dot. One mistake could blow it all.

Which one will you choose?
