My submission guidelines are quite simple. First, the story should be a
Quantum Leap story. (Well, duh!) Crossovers are fine, so long as Al and/or Sam
are in there somewhere. Second, the story should be slash -- in other words, it
should feature a same sex relationship in it somewhere. If it meets those two
requirements, the story will be gratefully accepted! So go ahead and send them
to me! You can reach me at QLSArchive@aol.com. You can send
your story as an attatchment or cut and paste it into the body of your email
message, whichever is easier for you.
A Brief List of No-Nos, or, Please Don't Do These Things
NO ACTOR SLASH. In fact, no actor fanfic at all. The QLSA will not accept
any stories featuring actual real people as characters. We're skirting the
legal line here as it is, folks. Let's not add slander to our list of
offences.
NO CHILD PORNOGRAPHY. I don't want to read erotic stories featuring adults
having sex with children, and I won't host them on this site. Writing a story
about child abuse is fine with me, but absolutely NO stories where this sort
of behavior is depicted as a good thing. Okay? Okay.
When you send me
a story, please do include the following items. And, please -- put them
in the body of the STORY, not in your email message to me.
A title.
The author's name or pen name.
The author's email address, so readers can send you feedback! (Optional.
If you don't want you address included, say so.)
A brief, one- or two-line summary of the plot.
Rating. If your story were a movie, what would it be rated? If you're not from the U.S., or even if you are, you might have trouble choosing a rating for your story. I've created a ratings help page you might want to take a look at.
Warnings. Any warnings that your story might need. For example: m/m sex
(should be obvious for a slash story, but you never know!), violence, rape,
child abuse, death story (ie, one of the main characters dies and stays dead
in your story). If you think it might upset someone, please warn your readers
about it!
Disclaimer. We're using someone else's characters; let's acknowledge that
fact.
Okay -- you've written the story, included all the above information, and are
ready to send it off. How should it be formatted?
Formatting Details:
If you're sending an attatched file, I prefer Rich Text Format -- that's
an .rtf file. I can read WordPerfect or Microsoft Word documents, but
the formatting (italics, underlining, boldface type, etc) doesn't always
survive the attatchment process. If it's an .rtf file, all that stuff
will come through.
Don't use tabs or indenting to indicate a new paragraph. Instead,
separate them with a line of blank space...
