They are now wherever we are."

When Tomorrow Starts Without Me

[dove]

When tomorrow starts without me, and I am not here to see,
If the sun should rise and find your eyes all filled with tears for me.

I know how much you love me as much as I love you,
And each time you think of me I know you'll miss me to.

But when tomorrow starts without me please try to understand,
That Jesus came and called my name and took me by the hand.

He said my place is ready in heaven far above,
And that I have to leave behind all those I dearly love.

But as I turned to walk away a tear fell from my eye,
For all my life I'd always thought it wasn't my time to die.

I had so much to live for and so much yet to do,
It seems almost impossible that I was leaving you.

I thought of all the yesterdays the good ones and the bad,
I thought of all the love we shared and all the fun we had.

If I could of stayed for just a little while,
I'd say goodbye and kiss you and maybe see you smile.

But then I fully realize that this could never be,
For emptiness and memories would take the place of me.

And when I thought of wordly things that I'd miss come tomorrow,
I thought of you and when I did my heart was filled with sorrow.

But when I walked through Heaven's gate and felt so much at home,
As God looked down and smiled at me from his great golden throne.

He said "This is eternity, And all I've promised you,
Today your life on earth is past, but here it starts anew."

"I promise no tomorrow but today will always last,
And since each day's the same here there's no longing for the past."

So when tomorrow starts without me don't think we're far apart,
For everytime you think of me I'm right here in your heart.

"These roses will forever bloom as a symbol
of my never ending love for you."

"Some people come in our lives and go quickly.

Some stay for awhile and leave footprints on our hearts.

And we are never, ever the same."

"Our Gift"

"For over 30 plus years your mother and I have shared this wonderful gift with each other, in good times and bad.

As the years have gone by we have been able to share this wonderful gift with four beautiful kids, Bambi, Tim, Patty and Lorrie.

They in turn have given us others to share it with, Judi, Steve and Andy.

Least I forget six, or soon to be seven of the most wonderful grandkids any two people could ask for.

We are very happy to have shared our gift with each and every one of you, our gift is love."

Love,
Dad and Mom

(This was written by my father as a gift to his children.)

"MY HERO"

As I ponder the love that I saw in his eyes,
A Godly love, given without compromise....
I recall many times that he stood by my side,
And prodded me on with great vigor and pride.
His voice ever confident, firm and yet fair,
Always speaking with patience, tenderness and care.
The power and might of his hands was so sure,
I knew there was nothing we couldn't endure.
It's true, a few others provided insight,
Yet, he laid the foundation that kept me upright.
He's the grandest of men to have lived on this earth,
Although he's not royal by stature or birth.
He's a man of great dignity, honor and strength.
His merits are noble, and of admirable length.
He's far greater than all other men I know,
He's my Dad, he's my mentor, my friend and hero.

Do not stand at my grave and weep;
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints of snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there, I did not die.

Visiting lighthouses along the Carolina coast was one
of my father's favorite things to do while on family vacations.

Golfing was one of my dad's favorite pastimes.
If there is a course in heaven, I'm sure he's on it!!
