My Savior wasn't forced to walk the road to Calvary,
Three rusty nails are not what held him to the rugged tree;
For the sin of man demanded him to pay the highest cost,
Love would be the only thing that held him to a cross.

His blood bought my redemption on Calvary because,

I picture in my mind a scene upon Mount Calvary,
How could God give up his only son for one just like me;
As he breathed his very last breath he finally suffered loss,
It must have been amazing love that held him to a cross.

He could have called ten thousand angels,
He didn't have to pay sin's cost;
But he conquered death and Hell forever,
When love held him to a cross.
