Part One Of "Long Distance Love"

    **Late June 1999**

Beyonce Knowles sat in her elegant room on her bed listening to her group’s new album, "The Writing’s On The Wall" one last time to make sure it was perfect before Columbia Records would officially release it next month. She was wearing blue jeans, a white top that said "I LOVE NY" and a red bandanna over her beautiful blond hair. She was barefoot as usual and nodded her head in approval as the last track ended. Beyonce got up off the non-made up bed and got the CD out of the stereo & placed it in the case. She looked at the album cover that had her three of her best friends and herself on it. A small smirk appeared on her face as she looked at herself in a white outfit with her hair in braids.

"Man, I don’t like how ‘dem braids look on me now. It’s too late now." She sighed as she stuck the CD down in her pocket.

She opened her door to hear a loud television down the hall. She thought it was her little sister, Solange, at first but then she remembered that their parents had made her move downstairs. Beyonce walked down the long flight of stairs and walked through the kitchen that had a huge white refrigator and a white stove. It also had a little bar with three blue stools. Then, she walked down a small hallway and there was her father’s office. The door had a gold plate on it that read "Matthew Knowles." The office was more neat and clean than it usually was. There was a big brown wooden desk which was where her father was sitting in a leather chair talking on the phone to somebody. The carpet in there was red. Two long book cases covered the walls. Books were inside of them but not many. The desk was covered with papers all over it. Her father was looking at one of them with a oval green lamp giving him light. He was wearing a gray shirt with buttons tucked into some black church pants. He looked from the paper and saw that his daughter had sat down in the chair that was in front of his desk.

"Look, you gotta call me back, man. I think Beyonce is finished listening to the album." He hung up and didn’t give the person a chance to respond.

"Am I interrupting you, daddy?" Beyonce asked.

"No, you fine, sweethart. So is the album perfect?"

"Yeah, this one is gonna put us on the map, I just know it."

"Fine. I’ll call Columbia Records up tomorrow and tell them we’re ready. The street date that they’ve told the record stores is July 19th."

"That’s good, about a month from now. ‘Bills, Bills, Bills’ is already #1!. The radio won’t stop playing it, the man stays people keep requesting the song."

"Columbia called me and told me that ‘Bug A Boo’ will be the next single. Be sure to tell Kelly, Toya and Tavia."

Beyonce got up, took the CD out of her pocket and tossed it to her daddy who caught it in his hands.

"Will do."

She left the office humming "Life" by K-Ci & JoJo.

"That’s my baby." Matthew said.

She walked upstairs and made her way down the white carpet and passed her bathroom and her cousin, Kelly’s room. She found her good friend and fellow Destiny’s Child member, LeToya, with her eyes stuck on the loud television with her mouth dropped. She was in the area that evrybody came when they just wanted to chill. There was a big red couch and blue & silver pillows decorating it. There was also red love seats scattered across the area too. LeToya was holding a teddy bear and was laying on the couch. Her hair was in a ponytail. She was wearing a large white t-shirt and blue sweat pants. Beyonce walked over and tapped LeToya, who blinked out of watching the television.

"Girl, what is you watchin’ that’s so loud?" Beyonce asked.

"Wrestlin’, you wanna watch it with me?" She replied as she kept her eyes on the four men that were wrestling.

"Toya, you know that stuff is fake. I don’t know why you waste your time watching it. I can’t get down with guys fake punching each other."

"It ain’t fake, Beyonce. WCW is the only one that’s fake but ECW & WWF is real. Come on, you ain’t never sat down and watched it so you can’t say it’s fake. Sit down." LeToya said as she pulled Beyonce down beside her on the couch.

"Okay, okay. I’ll watch it...just this once." Beyonce agreed.

"Where Kelly at?"

"She in her room sleepin’ probably. Remember she was in the studio the other night putting the finishing touches on ‘Now That She’s Gone.’ Toya, I’m tryin’ to tell ya, this album is hot! I just finished listening it. We gon’ sell like eight million copies of this mothafucka."

"I know, girl. We worked hard on this one. Solange and me listened to the whole thing today too. I didn’t realize it was gonna turn out so good. Maybe the white people will start liking us now. I mean, ‘Bills, Bills, Bills’ is already #1 on the charts. The streets is feelin’ the video too."

"Yeah, this one is gonna blow up..."

"Alright, you gon’ have to be quiet now. Wrestlin’ back on." LeToya interrupted.

"Well, you can at least tell me who the wrestlers are."

"Oh, my bad. Alright, that black man in that bright green vest and the pants to match is The Godfather. That white man in the black underwear that has that big purple V on it is Val Venis. Those girls standin’ outside the ring are the hoes." LeToya said as she pointed them out on the screen.

"Hoes?" Why would females want to be called hoes?"

"Calm down, girl. It’s just a storyline. They probably got those girls from local strip clubs or somethin’. You see, The Godfather is a pimp and those girls be walkin’ with him to the ring whenever he gotta wrestle. Val Venis is an old porn star so the girls like him already." LeToya explained.

"O...kay. Who is ‘dem other white boys over there?" Beyonce asked.

"That old man standing outside the ring yellin’ is Michael Hayes and those two is the Hardy Boyz. The one with the black hair is Matt Hardy and the one with the blond hair is Jeff Hardy. They brothers in real life and they’re the Tag Team Champions."

"Oh, okay. Matt Hardy is kind of cute." Beyonce said.

"Well, you can’t have him ‘cause I got on the Internet the other day and it said that he went with this girl in ECW. That comes on Fridays. If we home, I’ll show her to you."

"What’s her name?"

"I don’t know. Her wrestlin’ name is Miss. Congeality. But I think Jeff is cuter than Matt. Aw...damn!" LeToya yelled as Michael Hayes broke up the three count that Val Venis had on Jeff for the disqualification.

"Wait a minute...who won then?"

"Dang, girl. I gotta explain the rules to you too. You see, when you got a title match..."

"What’s a title match?"

"It’s when you have to put a belt on the line. The belts are the Hardcore Championship, European Championship, Intercontinental Championship, Tag Team Championship, WWF Championship and the Women’s Championship."

"Women do this stuff too?"

"Yeah, girl. There’s a black girl there too.  Her name is Jacqueline but anyway, when you have a title match, you have to win by getting a three count or making the person submit. Yet, you can’t win the belt when the champion gets disqualified so Matt & Jeff keep the belts. That’s why Michael Hayes broke up the three count."

"Oh, okay. I get it now. You know, Jeff is pretty cute when I think about it harder." Beyonce said as she watched the Hardy Boyz & Michael Hayes walk up the ramp while they held their belts in the air much to the crowd’s dislike.

"See, I knew you would see things my way. I ain’t saying Matt is ugly but Jeff just looks better than him. Is Tavia still out with Brandon?"

"I think so. I ain’t hear her come back. You think we should’ve done the duet on the album with Jagged Edge since she goes with one of the members instead of Next?" Beyonce asked.

"Well, it’s too late now, Beyonce, but I think the duet turned out pretty good. Everyone don’t know who Jagged Edge is yet but everyone knows who Next is so just let it stay the way it is. I heard some cuts off of Jagged Edge’s new CD. It’s hot just like ours. They’re gonna call it ‘J.E. Heartbreak,’ I think."

"Sounds cool. What time does wrestlin’ go off?" Beyonce asked since she was getting a little bored.

"Eleven o’clock."

Beyonce rolled her eyes and got comfortable in the couch as the next match came on.

Part Two Of "Long Distance Love"

Matt Hardy walked through the curtain with Michael Hayes and his big brother, Jeff, with his Tag Team Championship warm in his hands while out of breath.  He hoped he put on an entertaining match and that the fans got what they wanted.

"I still say that your matches could be longer." Michael Hayes said to Matt and Jeff as they made their way down the stairs off the Titantron.

"Doesn't matter to me, as long as we got these belts.  We can have two minute to thirty minute matches.  I don't care as long as I got my baby." Matt said as he hugged his championship belt tight.

"I'm telling Amy you called someone else baby." Jeff replied.

Matt quickly put his belt to his side and got quiet.  Michael and Jeff laughed.  They both know that Matt's girlfriend, Amy Dumas, had him on lockdown.  The guys were now walking down a hallway passing their co-workers and a million other people.  There were always tons of people backstage at the shows.  Matt and Jeff got the occasional "Good match, man" and "Y'all okay" from them.  They all nodded, thanked them and walked into the musty and humid locker room where some were watching the show on a small television set.  Some were changing out of their wrestling gear and some were chatting away on cell phones.

"How is Amy doing anyway?" Michael asked.

"She got an offer from ECW the other day so she's going there." Jeff said.

"Cool." Michael replied.

"Well, it's not all good, Michael.  Paul Heyman told her that he only wanted her as a valet.  I told her not to settle for that but she said yeah anyway." Matt said as he & Jeff took their tight shirts off.

"Ooooooh...sexy." Chris Irvine (a.k.a. Chris Jericho) joked around as he felt on Matt's chest.

"Get the fuck away from me, man." Matt pushed Chris away.

Chris laughed and walked out the locker room onto his match for the evening.  They all changed out of their wrestling gear and placed it in their bags.  Matt changed into a Carolina Hurricanes long-sleeved shirt and black sweat pants.  Jeff changed into some orange parachute pants, a orange bandanna on his forehead and a no-sleeved white t-shirt.  He put his hair in a ponytail.  Michael changed into a WWF Attitude shirt and just kept his pants on.  Jeff laid down on the long wooden bench and drifted off to sleep as usual.  Matt swung his belt over his shoulder as he sat down with the other guys who were finish wrestling and began watching the rest of "Raw Is War."

    **Later**

Matt and Jeff were making their way out of the arena.  Matt had his leather bag on his shoulder and Jeff was pulling at a black suitcase on wheels.  Jeff was still a little drowsy after the long nap that he usually took anyitme he could get a chance.

"Hey, Matt!" Someone yelled.

The brothers turned around to see Jason Reso and Adam Copeland (a.k.a. Edge & Christian) walking towards them.  They greeted each other and did their special handshake.

"We need a ride to the next town, you don't mind, do you?" Jason asked.

"No, not at all.  The more, the merrier." Matt replied.

Jeff grumbled since he wouldn't be able to sleep on the whole backseat as usual.

"It's okay, Jeffrey.  You can sleep on my shoulder." Adam said.

Jeff laughed and gave Adam a playful shove.  They all got to the Ford Explorer that Matt had rented from the airport.  They tossed their things inside and got in.  Jeff & Jason got in the back, Matt & Adam stayed up front seats.  Adam put a Pearl Jam CD in the player.  Eddie Vedder's voice echoed through the car and then, they were off.  Matt had to stop at McDonald's Drive Thru for his little brother and get his usual meal.  Adam got something too.

"Watch how you eat in here, I'm not paying for no stains in the carpet."

"Alright, we'll watch our shit." Adam replied.

Jeff & Adam blessed their food and started to eat.  As they gobbled up their food in the car, Matt went to Wendy's for he and Jason.  Everyone got out the car to eat in the fast food place since no one was in there so they wouldn't get recognized.  Matt and Jason got their stuff and started eating themselves.  They didn't say a word to each other since they were eating.  The silence was broken when Jeff's cell phone rang.  Jeff rolled his eyes and put his Big Mac in his lap.  He answered it.

"Hello...what's up, girl?!  How you doin'...that's good.  Why you ain't call me back last night?" Jeff said in his natural low voice.

"Who's that?" Jason asked Matt.

Matt looked up and wiped his mouth with those yellow Wendy's napkins.

"Some girl he's talkin' to, I think her name is Beth.  Just another girl.  We'll see how long this one lasts." Matt said about his brother.

"He's making me miss my woman.  I haven't seen her in two whole days." Jason complained.

"Hell, I haven't seen Allanah in a week.  I had to do that autograph signing with Gangrel last week so I couldn't see my boo."

"Look at us, we're sprung as hell over females." Matt said as Jeff continued chatting to Beth.

"Don't you even start.  We all know how crazy you are about that girl...what's her name?  Oh, yeah, Amy." Adam replied as took a huge bite out of his hamburger.

"If you had a woman like me, you'd be crazy about her too." Matt said.

"But my question...what's a girl as fine as Amy doing with a dude like you?" Jeff asked as he hung his cell phone.

"Ooooooh, you got played." Adam commented.

"How you gonna play your own flesh and blood like that?" Matt asked Jeff.

"I don't claim you." Jeff answered as he threw his food away.

Matt looked at his brother like he was crazy.  Jeff turned around and smiled at Matt.

"Come on, let's go." Jeff laughed.

They all got up, threw their food away and walked back to the car.  Adam drove this time while the other three men fell asleep.  A few minutes later, Matt awoke to his cell phone ringing.  He sat up, looked at Adam who was eating a Granola Bar and drving at the same time, rubbed his eyes and slowly answered the phone.

"Hello...hey, Amy!  I haven't talked to you in a long...we need to talk?  What about?  Well, I should be home late Tuesday night.  There's no house shows this week...is it serious...oh, okay.  I miss you like crazy...why do you find that hard to believe?  Amy, you know I can't control my schedule.  It comes with the job...of course, you come first but there's nothing I can do about it.  We've already discussed this, baby...okay, I won't call you that...fine, I'll see you Wednesday then...Bye." Matt spoke into the phone.

"What's wrong with her?" Adam asked as he kept his eyes on the road.

"You're asking the wrong man.  She says we need to talk about something when I get home."

"She ain't pregnant, is she?"

"How the hell can Amy be pregnant if I ain't never home?"

"Oh, yeah.  That is true.  She mad at you?"

"She was trippin' about my schedule again.  'I never see you no more.  Why can't you ask for some time off?'  You know, the usual.  I hope she gets to the WWF one day so that we don't have to go through this anymore."

"Well, you know what they say, never say never.  Plus, you know how ECW is.  Nobody stays there for a long time."

"Hopefully, you're right, man."

"Adam is always right." The canadian blond smiled.

********************************************************

Matt tossed the last pile of his laundry into the dryer.  He turned it on and walked out of the laundry room.  Matt walked back to the living room and fell back onto the couch.  He was so tired.  He was at his father's house, where he had been staying all his life.  His daddy was out at the post office sending off some things.  Matt was watching his match at King Of The Ring '99 that his father recorded last week.  He really enjoyed getting in the ring with Edge & Christian and Matt had a feeling that they would have a real bright future together.  Yet, Matt wasn't thinking about Adam and Jason, he was thinking about his girlfriend, Amy.  She called him earlier and told him he would be over the house later to talk to him about something in a minute.  Matt cleaned up the house real good since he was having company.  He was wearing a black shirt and a pair of shorts to match.  His hair was in a ponytail.  He tried to get his mind off Amy and think about his match next Sunday at Fully Loaded with the Acolytes.  Ditto.  That didn't work but he seriously had to go in his backyard later and try some new moves.  He looked at his Tag Team Championship lying on the coffee table beside the television and smiled a little.  The doorbell rang, Matt jumped out of his seat, ran to the door and opened the door.  There she was, the beautiful Amy Dumas.  She had on a pair of short shorts and a black fitness top with a white skull on it.  Matt's heart emptied the lonliness it felt and filled with satisfaction.

"I've missed you so much." Matt said as he hugged Amy.

"It's been a long time." She replied.

Amy stepped inside, Matt closed the door and followed her to the living room.  He got a quick glance of Amy's legs as she sat down & crossed them slowly.  He sat beside her.

"Where's your daddy at?"

"At the post office."

"Oh."

"How you been?"

"Look, Matt, we gotta talk…seriously.  I got a feeling there's a lot we need to get off our chests."

"Yeah, you're right about that."

"Well, let me get my shit out of the way first.  It's like this, Matt.  I don't think we should be together anymore and before you start bitching about it, let me explain myself.  Long distance relationships never last and I just wanna end this now before you really get your heart broken.  I mean, isn't it obvious to you that this ain't gonna last?"

Matt's head started spinning.  He couldn't believe what Amy had just told him.  The woman that completed him wanted out.  He swallowed his feelings and tried to talk.

"If you really want the truth...Amy, no.  I was willing to put a lot of time into this.  I thought what you and I had was special."

"Exactly my point.  What we HAD was special.  What we HAVE NOW isn't.  I never see you, I never talk to you and when we do talk, you ain't got nothing to say.  Your priorities are not what they should be and I don't think I can ever get used to your schedule."

Matt felt awful.  He knew this was coming.  Now, that it was here, he didn't know how to handle it.  He really loved Amy and he could tell that she really loved him but fate has a way of proving some people wrong about certain things.

"I can't believe this, I can't believe this is over.  I really liked you, Amy."

"I really liked you too, Matt.  I just realized that this isn't gonna work right now with me in ECW and you in the WWF.  There's no way.  Maybe we can try this again in the future but we cannot have a relationship at this point in time.  I'm sorry, Matt."

"Don't be.  If I were you, I would've gotten tired of sitting home waiting for a phone call too.  Let's get one thing straight though.  I didn't do the things I did intentionally.  I just never had the time to see you or even call you with the autograph signings and the house shows.  I never had the time.  If I had my way, it wouldn't be like this."

"I'm not blaming you.  I'm just saying that we need some space.  That's all, nothing more, nothing less but I do have something else to tell you."

"Is it good or bad?"

"I don't know but you remember what you just said about me sitting home waiting for a phone call?"

"Yeah."

'Well, you're exactly right.  I've been wanting to break up with you for a long time but you were never home when I called so…I started seeing someone else since our relationship was never real anyway."

"What?  You…you cheated on me?"

"Not necessarily because like I said, we never had a relationship ever since Michael Hayes became you and Jeff's manager.  It got to the point when someone would ask me if I had a boyfriend, I would say no, so I started seeing someone else."

"I don't even care that much, Amy.  Who was it though?" Matt shrugged.

Amy got up off the couch, walked to the door and turned around to see Matt looking straight in her eyes.

"Shane."

"WHAT?!"

"Yep, Shane.  I thought you didn't care though."

"Amy, you don't understand.  Shane and me are like brothers.  How could he do something like this to me?"

"Hey, don't you feel bad!  'Cause I sure as hell felt like shit with you never trying to contact your own girlfriend?  You expect me to sit here and wait on your ass for like three months?  I think not."

"I helped him get to where he is today.  I really helped him out and he turns his back on me by seeing you?  That little bastard."

"Hold up now.  Shane is a sweet guy.  At least he makes the time to make me feel like I'm special.  You used to do that for me but you stopped.  You changed, Matt, that's why I moved on."

"Man, Amy, you're not making this any easier for me to deal with."

Amy sighed, opened the door and stepped onto the porch.

"Look, you and me fussin' about this is just gonna end pissing both of us off so let's just shut up now.  I've moved on but hopefully, you can move on too, Matt.  I'll always love you, you know that and this isn't goodbye forever.  This is only temporary, okay?"

"Yeah, temporary." Matt said barely under a whisper.

Amy gave him a hug.  Matt fought off the tears he felt in his eyes and just smelled Amy's brown hair as he held her in his arms.  He knew it would be a long time before that would happen again.

"No matter what happens, I'll always love you, Matt.  You know that."

"I love you too."

She slowly walked to her car as Matt followed.  She turned around and kissed him on the cheek.

"Tell your daddy and Jeff I said hey."

"I will." Matt's said as his voice cracked.

"Look, this isn't goodbye forever, we'll meet again."

"I know.  I just hope that ain't a long time."

A small smile appeared on Amy's face.  She got in the car and rolled down her window.

"I might call you, I might not." She said.

Amy drove off, looked back through her rear view mirror to see Matt hanging his head as he walked back into the house.

Matt closed the door, leaned his back against the door and slowly fell to the ground.  He buried his head between his knees.  He realized that he lost a very special person for the moment and the hardest thing for Matt to do was to forgive himself for that.

Part Three Of "Long Distance Love"
by Jamaal
(TeamXtremeDude@aol.com)

    **July 19, 1999**

Beyonce, LeToya, LaTavia and Kelly waited behind the curtain for their cue from Carson Daly.  "The Writing's On The Wall" was released today and the girls were on Total Request Live to promote the album.  "Bills, Bills, Bills" was already the number one song in America so the girls were definitely proud of their accomplishments.  The ladies were all wearing comfortable clothes.  They all had on pairs of tight blue jeans and the tops they had on varied.

"Y'all ready?" A stagehand asked.

"Yes." The girls replied.

The stagehand quickly walked away.

"You know I just realized something." Kelly said.

"What?" LaTavia asked.

"That most of these white people don't even know who we are.  It feels kind of weird to be here." Kelly replied.

"Kelly, shut up." Beyonce and LeToya laughed.

"So without further ado, here are the beautiful ladies of Destiny's Child." Carson Daly announced.

The Houston natives smiled at each other and walked through the curtain to a loud ovation.  They were all overwhelmed by the response they got since they music hadn't officially crossed over to pop music yet but they still gave them plenty of support.  Carson spoke to the girls and ushered them to the window so that they could look out through Times Square at their fans.  LeToya touched her chest as she saw all the people wave with pictures of the ladies and all the smiles that they gave her and fellow Destiny's Child members.  The girls waved back and turned back around to Carson who was waiting to ask them plenty of questions.

"Hi, girls.  How are you doing?" He asked.

"We're awesome." Kelly replied.

"Thank you for asking." LaTavia said.

"So respectful." He said as he smiled.

"You are too, Carson.  You're very sweet."  Beyonce said.

"Why, thank you.  Well, of course, the reason you're here is because the album was released today.  'The Writing's On The Wall,' your second album."

"Yes and we are very excited about it.  We worked very hard on this one." Beyonce replied.

"While you're here, we would like to congratulate you on 'Bills, Bills, Bills' becoming the #1 song on the Billboard 200."

"Thank you." The girls smiled to the ovation from the crowd.

"This is your second #1 single, right?"

"Yes, 'No, No, No' was our first.  It's unbelievable for it to happen to us second time around." LaTavia spoke into the microphone.

"It's so cool to see your group's name above everyone else's name.  That's just a very flattering feeling and we wanna thank the fans for requesting it on the radio and buying the single.  We really appreciate that, you guys." Kelly said as the crowd started clapping.

"Well, that's kind of cool because most people don't know who you guys are." Carson said.

"Exactly, I was saying that earlier 'cause our music hasn't officially crossed over to pop yet.  Last time, we came out, the hip hop community supported us and they still do but on this album, we got something for everybody." Kelly explained.

"A lot of songs that the females can relate to." LeToya said.

"Oh, really?" Carson asked.

"We've already gotten apporached on the street by some people saying 'Girl, thank you for writing 'Bills, Bills, Bills' because I needed that song.'  It's plenty more that they'll like on the CD though.

"So y'all make sure y'all go get it if you haven't already done so." LaTavia pointed to the camera.

"Hey, 'Bills, Bills, Bills' wouldn't happen to be based on a true story, would it?"

"Carson, we've had our share of boyfriends so you'd be surprised." LeToya spoke into the microphone.

"Well, it's time for the number eight video and guess what?" Carson asked.

"It wouldn't happen to be 'Bills, Bills, Bills,' would it?" Kelly asked.

"You're right.  Here it is.  The number one song in America, 'Bills, Bills, Bills' by Destiny's Child.  Number eight on the countdown." Carson said.

"And cut!" The director yelled.

"Nice to have you here, girls." Carson shook all their hands and then, turned around a bunch of stagehands that had a lot to say.

LaTavia watched her fellow group members sign autographs for the crowd.  She quickly glanced at the screen to see a new friend of hers, Farrah Franklin, who was a dancer in the video.  She joined the girls in signing autographs.

"Hey, Bee, remind me to call Farrah later." She whispered in Beyonce's car.

"Who?"

"A dancer in the video, just remind me to call her."

"Alright."

Beyonce wasn't thinking about some girl named Farrah as she was signing autographs.  She was thinking about the new album and her fans. She really hoped they would be satisfied because she wanted nothing more than to please them.

    ********

Destiny's Child quickly piled into the long black limo.  They just finished doing an interview for a radio station.  It had been about a week after the release of "The Writing's On The Wall" and all seemed well.  It sold 133,000 copies in the first week so they were very pleased.  It was quite obvious that they were gaining a lot more fans.  "Bills, Bills, Bills" was still number one on the Billboard charts.  Still, the girls were tired as hell.  As soon as they got in the limo, the girls definitely were not sitting like ladies.  They were all slouched in the leather seats as their eyes were closed.

"I don't know about y'all but Kelly is tired.  We gotta start this tour in a few tours too.  This shit is crucial." Kelly said.

"And you know how Matthew is, we'll be praticing non-stop until it starts. Man." LeToya complained.

"Don't sweat it.  This is what we wanted.  This is what we worked for. Now, it's here.  Better take advantage of our fifteen minutes of fame." Beyonce said.

"Uh-oh.  We got a TV up in here." LaTaiva said as she found a remote control and a television to go with it.

"Turn it on.  ECW is on." LeToya excitedly said.

"Oh, lord." Beyonce said as LaTavia turned to it.

"Look, Bee!  That's who I was talking about the other day!"

"Who?"

"That's Matt Hardy's girlfriend, the one about to get put through the table." LeToya pointed to an brown-haired white girl lying on a table.

"Oh, really?  What's her name again?"

"Miss. Congeality."

"Oh.  Well, good for her."  Beyonce said feeling a pang of jealously strike itself up in her gut.

Immediately she pushed the feeling aside and immediately berated herself. It wasn't as if she even knew him or if he even knew who she was.

The limo came to a stop as the girls got out to see yet another hotel building.

    ***********

Beyonce walked out of the shower, running a hand through her wet hair as she looked over at LeToya.  Shaking her head, she realized her friend was watching wrestling again.

"Don't you ever get tired of watching that?"  She asked as she took a seat next to her.

The hotel they were staying at was really extravagant.  It was just like a house, but without all the little personal knick knacks that made it your own.

"Nope, I mean look at these hot men.  Not to mention some of the stuff they do in the ring.  I wish I could do some of this."  She said smiling over at her friend.

Beyonce shook her head.  She wasn't sure she could get with this wrestling stuff.  Then she heard some interesting music being as two men made their way down to the ring.

"Hey, that's those brothers isn't it?"  She asked sitting Indian Style as she leaned closer to the television.

"Yeah, it is. Do you remember which one is which?"  LeToya asked looking over at her friend with a smile.

It was interesting to see how she was dealing with this new concept.

"The dark-haired one is Matt and the other is Jeff, right?"

"You got it girl.  Now you can't even tell me that Matt doesn't embody the tall, dark, and handsome type."

Beyonce took a good look at the man on the television screen.  His chocolate brown eyes were intense as he faced down his opponent.  An intensity like that, she could respect.  That was same intensity she used when in the studio recording.  The same kind of intensity that she was going to need promoting this album and making her dreams come true.

Sighing, Beyonce leaned her head back against the couch and looked up at the ceiling.  A man who had eyes like that was the kind of man she needed. They said eyes were the window to a person's soul.  That was the kind of soul she needed.... one just like that man's in the ring.

Getting up and walking into the bedroom, she crawled in and pulled the cover up around her waist.  Gazing out the window, she thought about her life.  The only thing that was missing as far as she was concerned was that special someone she could spend her life with.  The man that she would call from the road when she was lonely, the man who would hold her when she was scared, and the man who would care for her when she was sick.

Sometimes at night she had this dream, that there was a man for her somewhere, someplace out there for her.  That man never had a face and she was beginning to wonder if he ever would.  Forgetting about everything, she closed her eyes and fell into a fitful sleep.

    *************

Beyonce smiled and laughed as she ran on the beach looking back at the man that was always in her dreams.  She giggled as she ran through the surf and kicked up water behind her as her legs picked up speed.

In her sleep, she turned back and forth, this was the dream she had been having for years now.

Squealing as she felt someone grab her from behind, she fell into the water grabbing onto the hands that reached out for her.  As she looked up she gasped as she saw a face for the first time, the face of Matt Hardy.

The days were just getting worse and worse for Matt.  First, the best thing he ever had kicked him to the curb.  Then, he found out that he had to drop the Tag Team Championship back to the Acolytes on the Pay Per View match they had scheduled for the night.  Matt cherished his belt just like he had cherished Amy.  He and Jeff were only the best tag team in the world for two weeks but he was thankful that the WWF gave him a chance to do his thing.  Still, ever since Amy left him, his life was missing that one thing to make him complete.  His life wasn't as exciting as it used to be.  It wasn't as fun as it used to be.  Things just weren't the same and that just made Matt very depressed.  He never realized what he had until it was gone.

Matt slowly walked into the locker room with his belt slung across his shoulder to plan the match.  Faraaoq, Bradshaw, Michael Hayes and Jeff were there waiting on him.  He saw down on the steel chair and looked up.

"Been waiting for you, boy." Bradshaw said.

"Yeah, I know.  I'm sorry.  I just haven't been myself lately."

"What's wrong with you?" Faraaoq said.

"Don't ask." Michael and Jeff replied.

"It's alright.  I can talk about it now.  My girlfriend dumped me."

"Awwww!" Bradshaw said as he messed up Matt's hair.

"So all this is over some girl?" Faraaoq asked.

"Oh, you done fucked up now." Jeff said as he got comfortable.

"She isn't just some girl.  She's a woman.  The lady of my dreams.  A woman unlike anyone else I have ever met.  She's special...more than special...she's a fuckin' angel and I'm miserable without her." Matt said in a serious tone.

"I told you.  Don't ever talk about Amy.  He'll go off on yo' ass." Jeff said to Bradshaw and Faraaoq.

"That's her name?"

"Yeah, Amy Christine Dumas...I wanted it to that last part to be Hardy but I fucked up big time." Matt said as he started staring into space again.

"No, you didn't.  You don't want a wife.  Trust me.  We know from experience, my boy." Faraaoq replied.

"If you had a woman like I did, she would prove you wrong."

"Alright.  Come on, come on!  We have a match to plan.  Let's just drop the Matt & Amy situation for a few minutes." Michael interrupted.

"Sorry, man.  I just...I just...don't know anymore."

   **********

Matt lay on his back, shirtless, staring at the ceiling in his room.  Amy had dumped him about a month ago and he hadn’t been the same since. He was feeling a lot better physically, but emotionally he still missed her like crazy. He had started talking again after about two weeks of silence during which Jeff had threatened everything from prying his mouth open to sticking a hot iron poker up his ass to get him to speak.

Amy really had Matt fucked up.  He would come home from wrestling, drop all his stuff and watch all his home videos of Amy training with OMEGA. It was quite obvious that he really loved her.  He hated himself for not being there for her when she needed him. One thing was for sure...the next time he found a woman like Amy, he wouldn't do anything to mess it up.  Being miserable was horrible, but being miserable and in love with someone who didn’t return the favor was a bitch.  He was learning that all a little too quickly for his own liking.

Matt smiled to himself as he watched Shannon Moore trying to teach Amy how to do a swinging DDT. This was how he loved her.  Smiling and laughing, using her hands to animatedly say something the more excited she got.  Those were the good ol' days, when everything was fine between the two.  He wished he could go back in time by just watching it.

Matt heard the door creak as someone opened it and sighed, Jeff had been giving him a hell of a time about his ‘obsessive ness‘.  He turned around to see Jeff standing there, shirtless as well, frowning at Matt like a father who had caught his two year old with his hand in the cookie jar.  He sat down on the bed that his depressed brother was lying on.

"Matt, this is getting ridiculous. You've gotta be a man and move on from this.  Sitting around here reminding yourself about her isn‘t helping you a bit."  Jeff said pounding his fists on the bed to accentuate his words.

"I'm trying, Jeff. I really am. I loved that woman and it‘s just not that easy to forget about someone you thought you would spend the rest of your life with. Besides it‘s easy for you to say all this when you are completely in love with a woman who feels the same way as you.  You don‘t understand how lucky you are."

"Maybe I don’t understand what you’re going through, but crying about it ain't gonna bring her back.  You can’t just act like you’re dead man.  She’s sure as hell not acting like it.”

“And how do you know what she’s doing, oh, powerful one?”  Matt asked rolling over onto his stomach and grabbing a pillow.

“I just got off the phone with her actually."

"How is she doing?" Matt asked as he quickly rolled back over and sat up.

"Believe or not...she's in Dory Funk's wrestling school now."

"Are you serious?! How did she get there?!"

"She told Rob Van Dam that she wasn't happy with what she was doing in ECW. So he took her to meet Dory. He was impressed when she told him about how she got into wrestling. Then, he invited her to train at the school."

"That's awesome. She never ceases to amaze me."  Matt said, the wonderment of her still in his voice.

"Well, she asked about you. I told her you were fine.  I couldn‘t bring myself to tell her how you really are."

"I bet she still has that same beautiful voice, same accent, same way of saying certain words."  He said as his smile got dreamy and he looked back at the television.

"Man, turn his shit off.  You‘re never going to get over her if you don‘t start living again bro.  Plus, you‘re about to drive me nuts.  Let‘s go work." Jeff said as he turned the television off.

"I know, I know. It's time to go back to work, right?" He replied as he put on a shirt.

"You'll find another woman, Matt. I don't know who but you'll find one and she‘ll be the one for you.  It may be hard, but love is always hard.  Trust me." Jeff said as he patted him on the back while they left his room.

“When did you get to be the wiser older brother?”  Matt cracked as they headed down the stairs laughing.

    **********

Matt read the script for the shows this week as Michael Hayes walked beside him to Matt and Jeff's hotel room. He had to forget about Amy for a little while and be professional.  Truth be told, being professional was the only way he was going to forget about her for a little while.  Thoughts of her still invaded his brain every free second he had, enough to drive a man crazy.  Working was the only way to get rid of her.

"So we turn on you tomorrow and join Gangrel?"

"Yeah, you and Jeff don't need me anymore in the storylines. You can make it on your own. Your talent speaks for itself."

"Well, like I've said so many times, thank you so much. You have honestly helped us out in more ways than one. I can't thank you enough, man."

"It's just in the storylines, Matt! I'm still gonna be here for y'all." Michael smiled.

"Yeah, I know. I just appreciate you getting us to where we are today. We needed it a lot."

"Well, I'm going to bed now. I'll see you in the morning." Michael waved as he walked to the hall.

"Alright. Take care."

Matt unlocked the door to his hotel room and went inside. The room had a bathroom, a coat closet, two beds, four wooden drawers and a television. Matt wasn't surprised to see his brother knocked out on his bed snoring loud as hell. He sat down on the other bed and turned Jeff on his stomach so the snores wouldn't be so loud. Matt had been doing that to Jeff ever since he was four.  He grabbed the remote and started flipping through channels.  He found MTV and got comfortable.  Amy always loved to watch MTV.  That reminded him of her in a huge way.  He felt tears forming in his eyes.  That's how miserable he was.  Everything he saw reminded him of Amy.  He couldn't help but think about her but a video came on and it totally released him from thoughts of her.

It's not hot that you be callin' me, stressin' me, pagin' my beeper
You just non-stop and it's not hot that you be leavin' me messages
Every ten minutes and then, you stop by
When I first met you, you were cool
But it was game, you had me fooled
'Cause twenty minutes after I gave you my number
You already had my mailbox full

Matt's eyes were glued to the television screen. He had never been so blown away before in his life. That voice he just heard was so beautiful. The face he saw on the television made his head spin.  Chocolate brown skin, and the honey colored hair greeted him as he gazed at the screen. She didn’t look like his normal kind of girl, but maybe that’s what made her so appealing.  Amy had been his normal kind of girl and she had hurt him worse than anyone ever had.  Speaking of which, he couldn't even remember Amy's middle name. This woman he saw singing with three other girls drove him wild. Matt looked at Jeff, he would know who they were.  He had to know that girl's name.  Matt shook Jeff over and over until he woke up.

"Jeff! Jeff! Get up!"

"What?  WHAT?! Get the fuck off me!  I'm tryin' to sleep!" Jeff didn't even bother to look up, he just pushed Matt away as if he were a worrisome mosquito.

"You can go to sleep after you tell me who that girl is." Matt sat Jeff up with his strength and made Jeff look at the television screen.

"Destiny's Child.  It's Destiny's Child!  Let me go to bed now!" Jeff said as he tried to wiggle out of Matt's tight grip and rubbed his eyes.

"Who's the lead singer?  What is her name?!" Matt asked.

"Beyonce!  Now, let me go!" Jeff pleaded with Matt 'cause he was having a good dream about Beth before Matt woke him.

Matt pushed Jeff back on the bed and turned his attention back to the television as the video continued to play. He didn't know what it was about this girl named Beyonce but he certainly took his mind off of all the stress that was surrounding him at the moment. It was one of those love at first sight type things. He didn't know how or when but he was determined to meet this girl named Beyonce.

Part Five Of "Long Distance Love"

(TeamXtremeDude@aol.com)
Beyonce and Kelly sat in their respective dressing rooms waiting for Beyonce's mother, Tina Knowles, to bring in the group's clothes for the performance the group had later that night. LaTavia and LeToya were in elsewhere talking to their boyfriends, Brian and Brandon, from the group, Jagged Edge, on their cell phones.

"So what did you wanna tell me?" Kelly asked before she gobbled up a piece of fried chicken.

"I had a weird dream last night. Weird isn't the only way I would describe it though. It was...satisfying too." Beyonce wiped her mouth with a napkin.

"Girl, what kind of dream you talking about?"

"You know the dreams I have about a man being somwhere in the world for me but he never has a face?"

"Yeah, you told me about that one before. Was it the same one?"

"It was the same one but this time, the dude had a face."
"It was Lyndell, won't it?" Kelly said with a smirk.
Kelly was talking about Beyonce's former boyfriend of three years. Beyonce was crazy about him when they were together. It took her quite awhile to get over him when they had broken up. These days, Beyonce rarely thought of Lyndell.
"Hell, naw! It won't no damn Lyndell!"
"Stop lying." Kelly said.

"For real, girl! It won't Lyndell. Someone different...very different."

"Was he fine?" Kelly asked as she got closer to Beyonce.

"Was who fine?" LaTavia and LeToya came in the room and started eating too.

"Bee had that dream about the guy and this time, he had a face."

"For real? Hold up...it was Lyndell, won't it?" LeToya said with her mouth full.

"Naw, man! It won't no fuckin' Lyndell! I'm over that boy!"

"Well, who was it? She was just about to me before y'all came in."

"It was...Matt Hardy."

The room got quiet and the girls looked each other. Beyonce bit her lip, not sure if she should have told them. Knowing how they were about interracial relationships, she cursed herself.

"Girl are you serious?" LeToya asked with an eyebrow raised at her friend.

“Yes, very serious.”

"But, a white boy?" Kelly said, the fire evident in her eyes.

"Yeah." Beyonce said, the same fire coming to her eyes.

Turning around, Beyonce hugged herself with her arms. She knew how these girls were so she was open to the criticism that was about to come her way.

“How can you do this? You know how we all feel, not to mention how you’re father feels about the subject.” LeTavia said coming over to get in her friend’s face.

“I know exactly how you feel, but I don’t see what that has to do with how I feel.” She said her voice growing louder.

“Beyonce, you don’t even know this man. You have never had a conversation with him in your life. For all you know he could be some racist skinhead, why are you setting yourself up for a hurt like this?” Kelly asked, trying the gentle approach.

“Look, I’m not saying that I am going to marry this man, hell I don’t even know him myself, but you know how I am about dreams. They are the gateway to one’s future. Dreams tell you things you’re conscious can’t and if my dreams are telling me that this is the man for me, who am I to stop it.” Beyonce said loudly before storming out of the room at a dead run.

The remaining girls looked at one another with curious glances on their faces as they tried to figure out what was going on in her head.

*******
Her head hurting and heart pounding, Beyonce stopped in front of a little coffee shop down the street from their hotel. Glancing inside, she silently debated if it would be alright if she went in. They weren’t so popular that EVERYONE knew who they were, but they were popular enough to cause a scene if they were spotted. Throwing caution to the wind, she stepped inside, order a mocha an sat down in a far booth.

Blowing on the hot liquid before bringing it to her mouth, her thoughts went back to the scene that had just gone down. She knew that her friends were right, it was completely taboo for a black girl to date a white boy, as far as society went. They had accepted the black guy, white girl, coupling to a degree, but when it was reversed, things weren’t pretty.

Running a hand through her now mangled hair she glanced skyward. God had always been an integral part of her life and she knew she was calling on his guidance to tell her why. Why she had dreamed about this man, why she couldn’t get him out of her head, and why if they even did get together would he make it so hard on them in societies eyes.

*********

The remaining three girls sat in the hotel room nervous as hell. It had been a full two hours since Beyonce had run out and they were all worried. Worried to the point that they were questioning themselves.

“Would it be so bad even if she did like a white boy?” Kelly asked as she sat on the couch with her feet underneath her.

They all looked at one another, knowing deep down inside they were all screaming yes.
“Of course it would be, I mean think of how we feel when we see white girls with the black boys, how would the boys feel if they saw her with a country-bred white boy. She is such a talented black woman and she needs to respect those roots. What would Matthew say?” LaToya said emphasizing her point by moving her hands around.
“Not to mention what it would do to our careers. Could you imagine the headlines. ’R&B Pop Diva Shacks Up With WWF Wrestler’. That is something that I don’t want to have to go through. We need to be known for our music and not for a media blitz surrounding us because Beyonce feels she needs a little cream with the coffee.” LaTavia said.

They all looked at one another all thinking the same, yet wishing they could support their friend in anything she decided to do.

**********

Beyonce made her way back to the hotel slowly, she really didn’t want to go back and face the girls that had earlier belittled her.

“Not to mention what they probably said after I left.” She muttered as the elevator she was waiting for arrived.

Taking out her keycard, she pressed it through the door and walked in. The remaining members of the group that had been talking looked up as she came to stand before them. Holding her head up high, she sat down next to them and waited for the barrage of questions she was sure to have coming her way.
“Where in the hell have you been? We’ve been worried sick about you.” Kelly said pointing at Beyonce with a finger.
“Yeah, well, I’m surprised you even cared, seeing as how I jumped ship and went to the ‘other side.' That's what you meant, right?” She said, her eyes challenging all of them, ready to take whatever they could dish out.

“Honey, we didn’t say that.”

“Yeah, but you meant it and right now, I really don’t want to talk to you guys and I am ashamed that you are my friends.” With that she got up and walked quickly to her room, slamming the door shut and leaning against it. The tears threatening to escape from her long lashes. Part Six Of “Long Distance Love”

Matt Hardy got out of the Ford Explorer, along with his brother, that he had rented to get to the house show the WWF had scheduled for today. Unlike other days, Matt was in a good mood. He had been ever since the day he had seen Beyonce Knowles on television. Matt wasn't depressed anymore. He didn't feel like shit anymore. He was feeling great and he wasn't thinking about Amy at all. In fact, he had started talking to Amy again as a friend. Jeff couldn't have been more happy for his brother. He had been waiting for the old Matt Hardy to return and he was very thankful to see him back. However, he thought it was very awkward that his brother was absolutely crazy about Beyonce.  They had never met in their lives and not only that, she was black.  He couldn’t really see his brother going that way.  It wasn’t that he had a problem with it, he had no problem at all with his brother dating a black female but some of their friends and family would. He didn't want them bothering Matt if somehow, Beyonce and Matt hooked up.  Matt got his gym bag out of the trunk and Jeff went to get his bag but his brother stopped him.

"Don't worry, bro, I'll carry it for you." Matt happily said.

"O...kay." Jeff said as he shut the trunk.

Jeff shook his head as he and Matt walked in the arena humming to "Temptation" by Destiny's Child, that he was listening to on his CD Player. It seemed like Matt and his new Destiny's Child CDs were inseparable. He would listen to them most of the time. His Pearl Jam CDs had literally been deserted, which were the ones that Matt used to listen to most of the time. Jeff knew that his brother was acting weird before, but this was weirder than before. The boys walked into the arena, waving at the occasional "Hey, man." from their co-workers. They walked over to the board where the matches were listed.

"Oh, cool. Looks like we'll be wrestling those Canadian blondes again." Matt said.

"Matt." Jeff said as he slowly took the headphones off of Matt's ears.

"What's up?"

"Look, I'm very glad that you're all happy and everything but don't you think that you're acting a little...I don't know how to say this."

"Obsessive?" Matt interrupted.

"How did you know?"

"Jeff, I've known you for twenty-three years. I know what you're thinking, I know what you're gonna say before you say it. I know how I've been acting lately but I'm not complaining. This woman has really brought a lot of joy into my life. I'm over that depressed shit, I'm over Amy, I'm happier than I've ever been...because of Beyonce."

    **********

Jeff shook his head at Matt and headed back to their dressing room.  It’s not that he wasn’t happy for his brother, because he was.  He had never seen his brother as depressed as he was when Amy had broken up with him, but Jeff also had to watch out for him.  He had never met this woman before and who was to say that she liked him.  Hell, who was to say that she even knew who he was.

Jeff’s head shot up as his brother walked inside, putting his CD player up and getting out his clothes for the night.

“Matt, we seriously need to talk.”  Jeff said getting up and walking over to his brother.

“What about?”  He asked as he sat down and took off his shoes.

“This Beyonce thing.  Matt, I love you.  You are one of the most important people in my life, I have always looked up to you, I have always respected you, and I have always wanted to be the best that I could be for you.  You have always watched out for me and now I feel like I need to watch out for you.”

Matt looked at him, his eyes narrowing and his mouth pursing as he listened to his younger brother.

“Now hear me out before you say anything.  You’ve just come from a bad break-up with Amy, you don’t need to rush into anything now.  As far as I am concerned, this is just a rebound crush for you.  You see this girl who is the complete opposite of Amy and you think that just because of that she can’t hurt you.  Well, guess what, Matt?  Any person you give control over your heart can hurt you.  It doesn’t matter who they are or what they look like.  Now get this silly idea out of your head and get it out of there now.” Jeff said standing with his hands on his hips, glaring down.

Matt sat there for a few minutes, mulling over the things his brother had just said to him.  Part of himself said that Jeff was right, that he was crazy for even thinking half of the things he was, but something in his heart told him to take this chance and not to look back.

“Look Jeff, I know that I really freaked out on you whenever Amy broke up with me.  I loved her with all my heart, part of me always will, but this is different.  When I saw that beautiful face on the television screen singing, it was as if she was singing to me.  It was as if she was looking right at me, telling me to get over myself.  That’s what I plan on doing and somehow I know that it will happen.” He said getting up and pulling his shirt over his head.

Jeff shook his head and once more tried to make his brother see reason.

“Matt, she probably doesn’t even know you exist.  I bet she’s never even watched WWF programming, much less seen a Twist of Fate.”

“I don’t care, somehow I will meet her and make her see that I am the man for her.  If it takes the rest of my life, I will wait.  You can’t rush true love anyway, you should know that.”

Jeff wracked his brain for something he could say to his brother, anything to make him forget about this.  He said a quick prayer and asked for forgiveness before turning his brother around and getting up in his face.

“Yeah, well, what makes you think she’d wanna meet some country bred, hick, white boy like you?”

Matt looked at his brother, his eyes seemed to be breaking into a million pieces, but he didn’t let it show and managed to at least get in a parting shot before making his way out the door.

“Because Jeff, it’s our destiny.  Nothing is going to change that.”

    **********

Matt lay on his back in the hotel bed wearing nothing but boxers staring at the ceiling.  He was blown away by what Jeff said.  He had never known Jeff to be prejudice.  He knew that their father had raised him better than that.  He never knew that it was so wrong to like a black female.  If the love he felt was real and if he was happy, that should've been all that mattered but Matt was wrong.  Matt sat up and looked at Jeff who appeared to be sleeping.  He needed to talk to him.  Matt slowly got up out of the bed.

"Don't waste your time.  I'm awake." Jeff said on his bed looking at ceiling himself.

Matt sighed and climbed back into the warm and comfortable bed.

"Look, Jeff, is it that bad for me to like Beyonce?"

"No, I was just going through my brain madly to find something to say to you so that you would forget about her.  I'm sorry, I didn't mean it."

"Then what's the problem, Jeff?"

"A lot of things.  You fall in love too easily, man.  Don't you know that?"

"Actually, no.  I haven't had tons of girlfriends like you have.  I've only had a few so I try to cherrish the very few ones that I do get."

"But Matt, look at all the shit you went through when Amy dumped you.  You loved her hard and you're loving a woman who probably doesn't even know you exist hard too.  I just don't want your heart to be broken again.  Somebody already broke your heart."

"I know, I'm aware of that but something tells me that she's different.  Beyonce could be the one."

"Matt, what are the chances of a busy white wrestler and a beautiful single black entertainer getting together?"

"Jeff, get to the point.  I don't get where you're coming from."

"Long distance relationships!  It never works out.  I thought you would have learned that from the things you went through with Amy but I guess not.  You and Beyonce, if you actually hooked up, would never see each other.  I mean, NEVER.  That girl is busy as hell and you are too.  The only communication you two would have is a telephone and a mailbox.  A relationship can't survive like that."

"Yes, it can.  For Beyonce, I'm willing to try.  I have to get that woman in my life, Jeff, if it's the last thing I do.  I love her."

"Just promise me that you'll be careful and that you won't fall in love so hard."

"I'll try.  I really will.  I appreciate your concern but this is just something I wanna do, okay?"

"Fine, fine.  I'll leave you alone then, bro."

"Thanks for understanding, Jeff." Matt and Jeff did their special handshake before Jeff drifted off to sleep.

Matt stared at the ceiling again with Beyonce haunting his mind yet again.  He loved her so much.  He just a feeling that they were meant to be and he was determined to prove all the people who thought he was crazy wrong.  A song by Destiny's Child came into his mind and he started singing it to himself before he finally drifted off to sleep.

Part Seven Of "Long Distance Love"
by Jamaal
(TeamXtremeDude@aol.com)

Beyonce had gotten over what her friends said about Matt a few weeks ago.  Yet, everything still wasn't all good.  Ever since that little incident, Beyonce and Kelly weren't that close with LaTavia and LeToya.  They were cool and all but it was like they drifted apart a little after LaTavia and LeToya hooked up with Brian and Brandon from Jagged Edge.  Beyonce didn't really pay much attention to it though.  The only thing she was really concerned with was meeting Matt Hardy.

The girls were in Richmond, Virginia, on a small tour to promote "The Writing's On The Wall."  The album reccently went platinum and the record company wanted the girls to continue that success so they were performing in different cities.  Beyonce was very excited to be in Virginia on this day because the WWF was in town for the "SmackDown" tapings.  She, LeToya and LaTavia saw to it that Matthew got her and the girls tickets.  Kelly didn't really get into the wrestling thing yet, she just liked The Rock.  But Beyonce honestly thought this was the day that her prayers would be finished, the day that she would meet Matt.  LaTavia and LeToya weren't too excited about their friend wanting to date a WWF Superstar, much less a white boy.  They didn't want Beyonce to get her heart to get broken again but Kelly had learned to accept the fact that was who Beyonce was in love with and supported her.

The girls were about to perform the last song for their fans in Virgina.  It was almost time for the "SmackDown" tapings to start.  Beyonce wanted to rush and get it over with but she thought about Matt and just calmed down and did it like she would do any other day.  God wasn't gonna let her down.  The group came together on stage and the stage was pitch black except the light that was on Destiny's Child.  Beyonce brought the microphone to her lips.

Amazing gra-hey-hey-ace

How sweet (how sweet, sweet)
The sound (the sound)
Sound
(That saved) Saved
(Saved a wretch) a wretch
(Oh ho like me)
Me, me me

(I once)
Was lost, oh, lost
Lost, lost, lost
Lost, lo, lo, lost, lost
Lost, oh, lost
(But now)
But now I'm found
(What you say girl?) But now I'm found
(They still can't feel you) But now I'm found
Was blind, but now I see Oooh...
(ooh whoa, oh ho hooo.....so amazing)

Twas grace have taught
My heart to fear
And that grace my fears relieved (My fears relieved, my fears relieved)
(How precious did... that grace)
That grace appear
In the hour, (thank you lordy, thank you!) I first believed
Thank you, lord

The girls bowed to a standing ovation and they thanked the fans for the support and thanked the fans for coming.  They ran offstage and by everyone who got in their way.  They tossed the microphones one of the production people and ran away to the limo that was waiting outside but they were stopped by their manager, Matthew Knowles.

"Daddy, move!  It's about time for the tapings to start!"

"Wait, baby.  I got some good news.  I got a call while y'all were performing "Say My Name" and apparently, one of the important WWF people found out that y'all were coming to the show and he got y'all backstage passes to avoid the fans messing with y'all." Matthew said as he showed them backstage passes.

The girls screamed and grabbed the passes and piled into the limo.  Matthew smiled as the limo speeded off into the night.

"I get to see my baby!  I get to see my baby!" Beyonce chanted hapilly.

"Shit, fuck that.  I got to see Rocky!" Kelly said as she gave LeToya a high-five since she loved The Rock too.

"You really think this is it, huh?" LaTavia asked Beyonce.

"Girl, look at this.  Backstage passes.  I thought we were just going to the show but God did this.  This is a blessing from Him.  I love God so much, damn, I love him!  But see, He made this possible.  He does everything for a reason so tonight is the night, man.  I just know it."

"I just hope everything turns out the way you want it to." LeToya said.

"Why you say that?"

"You fall in love easily.  Lyndell really messed you up but what if that happens with you and Matt?  You'll be miserable."

"Well, quite frankly, I don't mean to sound rude but I don't need you telling me who I can and cannot have a relationship with."

"You act like she can't be concerned about you." LaTavia said with some anger in her voice.

"She didn't say that, she was just saying that she's her own woman.  She doesn't need anyone dictating who can and cannot be a part of her life.  That's her decision, not yours."

"And just when do you decide to start speaking for Beyonce?  I was talking to her, not you." LeToya said.

"Whoa!  Whoa!  Look, let's just calm down because we're here.  We're not gonna end up like those other girl groups, okay?"

The girls stayed quiet for the rest of the ride and changed into more comfortable clothes that they had left in the limo from earlier.  They all changed into tight blue jeans but wore different tops.

The other girls got out a little angry at each other but they ignored it and walked backstage.  They knew that most of the wrestlers wouldn't know where they were since most of them listened to rock music but they didn't really care.  Kelly stayed with Beyonce while LeToya and LaTavia went their own way.  There were so many people backstage that it was hard to get around.  They bumped into plenty of people and saw a lot of familar faces but they just kept quiet.  They were looking for Matt.  Either someone was running somewhere or someone was talking on their cell phone or someone was just walking around talking to somebody else.

"You know, I don't know what I would have said to her if you hadn't had stepped in, Beyonce."

"I know.  That's why I made you shut up.  I know how ghetto you can get when you angry.  Toya and Tavia know they're wrong.  I've been getting the feeling that they don't really care about the group much more.  Their work ethic has really gone down these past few weeks, I think they just want the money."

"Stop lying, Bee." Kelly said before she accidentally bumped into Jacqueline.

"I mean, I love them to death but some people just don't wanna work sometimes and I don't like that."

"BEYONCE!  KELLY!" Someone yelled from behind.

The girls turned around to see Matthew running towards them.

"What?  Don't call me out like that." Beyonce said.

"I just came to tell y'all that you will be staying at Holiday Inn tonight.  I got y'all a good suite."

"I heard Toya and Tavia were talking shit to you, Kelly, so I just got them a normal room."

"Daddy, you know you wrong for that.  Can't talk about it now though.  I'm looking for my future husband!" She said as she walked off with Kelly.

    ************

The two walked the halls for what felt like forever when they spotted a group of female valets and wrestlers standing in a corner.  A beautiful blonde looked up and her mouth gaped open.

“Oh my God!!  It’s Destiny’s Child.”  She yelled as she hit another woman with red hair on the arm and started to hyperventilate.

Taking that as their cue to walk over and maybe score some info about where to meet the boys, Kelly and Beyonce quickly made their way over.

“It’s nice to meet you, I’m Beyonce.”  She said extending her hand to the shorter lady.

She graciously took her hand and kept on smiling.  Looking over at the other woman for the first time, Beyonce felt her stomach turn.  She was face to face with Amy Dumas, the ex-girlfriend of the man she was destined to marry.

“Hey, I’m Amy.  I’m not really a fan, but I do think ya’ll have some pretty cool songs.”  She said smiling and shaking hands with the two.

Beyonce gritted her teeth and smiled a tight smile at the woman in front of her.  It was crazy for her to be jealous, but she felt the beginnings of jealousy rising up in her stomach.

“I'm Beyonce, you’re Matt Hardy’s girlfriend right?  I’m a huge fan of theirs.”

Amy smiled politely and almost laughed, It was apparent to her that Beyonce had a thing for Matt.  Her eyes gave her away.  You could tell anything about anyone when you looked in their eyes and the chocolate brown one’s in front of her were screaming I WANT HIM!

“I used to be his girlfriend, we broke up not to long ago, but we’re still really good friends.”

Beyonce’s heart literally skipped a beat when those words flew out of her mouth.  Her brain screamed 'I have a chance, I have a chance, Oh my God I have a chance.  How do I look?'

“I’m sorry to hear that.  You two made such a wonderful couple.”

Amy did laugh aloud at that and just shook her head.   Women were so funny sometimes.  They all tried to be polite even when it was obvious that they were happy as hell.

“Yeah, well, sometimes you’re just better off being friends with someone and that just happened to be what the case was with us.  I can introduce you if you want.  They are just down the hall.”

“No, no that’s alright.  I’m sure we’ll run into them later.  Well it was nice meeting you, maybe we’ll see ya around.”

With that Beyonce pulled Kelly along with her and around the corner.

“Girl, why didn’t you let her introduce us, that was your chance.”  Kelly said smacking Beyonce upside the head.

“Because that’s not exactly how I want it to go.  Duh, his ex-girlfriend introducing us?  That isn’t exactly the way I want to meet the man of my dreams.”

Kelly rolled her eyes and pulled Beyonce along, just as they began walking again a door open and two men stepped out.  Beyonce inhaled a sharp breath and looked over at Kelly before looking back in front of her and whispered.

“Matt.”

Matt stood as transfixed as Beyonce.  His eyes slowly drank her in and a slow smile curved on his face.

“Beyonce.”

With that, the fireworks that they both knew would happen if they ever met began.

Matt stood there dumbfounded, looking straight in Beyonce's eyes. Time seemed to stand still for the two as they both struggled for something to say, but no words came out. Everyone gathered around as they watched what would be the exchange, they all knew Matt adored Beyonce. Backstage filled with silence. Matt couldn't believe his eyes. He totally didn't expect to see the woman of his dreams today at work. He could tell by looking in ebony Beyonce's eyes that she had been waiting for this moment too. He could see the happiness that had built there and was threatening to take over. He didn't know what came over him next, all of a sudden, Matt's manhood took over. He grabbed Beyonce by the neck and pulled her into his arms for a very passionate kiss as everyone clapped and cheered. Seconds later, Matt opened his eyes slowly as his tongue escaped Beyonce's mouth.

"I've been waiting for this moment for so long." He said, his breathe ragged as his eyes searched her face, seeming to memorize it.

"Really?"

Beyonce, had known that this was destiny, but to hear him utter those words, that filled her heart with hope and joy.

"Yeah."

"I have too."

Matt smiled a genuine smile. He had known just as she had, but it felt even more special to hear her agree.

"Let's get away from all these people." Matt said before he took Beyonce's hand leading her away form the crowd.

*******

Matt and Beyonce found a free locker room, where they could be by themselves. He just stared into her eyes as he held her hands. Matt just couldn't believe this. He knew the day would come when he would meet Beyonce but he certainly didn't expect today to be that day. She was just so beautiful. Her face was like an angel and that's exactly what Matt had known her to be...an angel sent from God to save him. He could see that happiness in Beyonce's eyes as well and that's all Matt wanted, to make Beyonce happy. After awhile, Matt finally managed to break the silence in the room.

"I've wanted to meet you since I saw you on TV. In some weird way, I‘ve come to care about you without even ever speaking to you." He said reaching his hand up and running it across her face.

"I don't what it is about you, Matt...it just feels right."

"I just can't believe you're here. This is one of the best days of my life."

"Me too, baby. When did you realize that you and me were meant to be together?" Beyonce said as she cuddled into Matt's arms.

"Well, I recently broke up with my girlfriend and I was miserable about it. I was very depressed over it but one night, I was watching MTV and there you were. You took away all my sadness, you helped me to move on, you made me a better man. That's when I knew that my love for you was serious."

"I've always had this dream that there was a man out there for me but he never had a face but one night, you were the face and from then on, I knew you were the one for me."

"When did you first see me?" He asked wondering when she had time to watch television, much less the WWF.

"I first saw you when you were a Tag Team Champion and since then, I've been crazy about your sexy ass." Beyonce replied.

"I'm sexy? You're the one that's sexy."

"Do you really think you and me have a chance?" Beyonce asked, tears welling up in her big eyes.

Things weren’t ever this easy for her and he was making this out to be the simplest thing he had ever done in his life.

"Don't cry. If we're very committed, I think we do. Long distance relationships are hard but we can survive if we try hard enough." Matt said as he wiped the tears from her eyes.

"I have to fly to Austrailia tomorrow. The album just got released over there."

"Austrailia...man. Me and Jeff finally get two days off starting tomorrow so I'm off while you have to work."

"I don't look at it as work. I love what I do."

"Well, that's all that matters. As long as you're happy. The worst part is just that I can't be there with you."

"I agree. I just wanna be with you now. Who are you taking on tonight?" Beyonce said before giving Matt a peck on his lips.

"Well, tonight, we're gonna start this Best Of Five Series with Edge & Christian and whoever wins gets Terri as their manager. I think you'll like it."

"I can't wait." Beyonce smiled up at Matt.

The locker room door slowly opened, Jason's head poked in and he smiled at the two. He was actually a fan of hers, having stole Matt’s CD on occasion when he would go to the ring. It was obvious she had an awesome voice and the couple would never lack of talent.

"I'd hate to interrupt you two but we gotta get dressed, Matt, and Kelly wants you, Beyonce." Jason said.

"Okay." Matt said as he stood up with Beyonce and then, put his arms around her waist.

"You have a good match. I'll be back here watching your every move." Beyonce kissed Matt.

"And I'll be out there thinking of you like I have been ever since I saw your beautiful face." Matt kissed Beyonce.

"Come on, man!" Jason said.

"Alright, alright." Matt said as he and Beyonce left the locker room.

*******

Kelly burst in as Matt left, jumping up and down and smiling at her friend. Beyonce practically glowed. She had never seen this look before and she knew that it had to do with man who had just walked out the door.

“Before you ask, I am in love. I don’t know how it happened or when, but sometimes things like this are just meant to be girl and this is one of them. Let’s go catch the match.” Beyonce said grabbing her hand and leading them to the curtain.

"Girl, I just met The Rock! Dang, he is fine!"

*******

Beyonce stood in the parking garage, her back up against the wall, Matt leaning up close to her.

“So I guess this is good-bye.” She said sadly, playing with the collar of his black leather jacket.

Matt caught her chin in his hand and lifted it up, forcing her eyes to look into his. The pain and heartbreak he saw there physically caused him pain, but he knew he had to be strong.

“Hey, don’t be sad sweetheart. We’re gonna make this work. You’ve got to believe me. What I feel here..." He said pointing to his heart.

"Is too strong for me to forget about or screw up. You don’t even have to worry about that baby.” He whispered pulling her close to him, placing his lips softly on hers.

Beyonce smiled up at him as he pulled away and pushed his hair behind his ears.

“You’re right, no more tears. I have your numbers, you have mine. We will make this work.”

Matt gave her another quick kiss as Jeff and the rest of the gang yelled at him to hurry.

“You better go, I’ll talk to ya later.” She said wiping lipstick off his lips and giving him a smack on the ass as he turned and ran to meet the rest of them.

She turned and started to walk back in the building, planning on finding the rest of the girls when she heard someone yell.

“Beyonce, wait!!!”

Matt came running back up to her with something in his hands.

“I have something for you. This is my chain necklace, I wear it for good luck and it’s always been good to me. Now I want it to be good for you. Will you wear it and think of me?” He asked fastening it behind her neck.

Beyonce looked down at it, grinning and nodded, not trusting herself to speak. Matt grinned, kissed her one last time and ran back to his friends waving. He got into the white van with his brother, Jason, Amy and Adam. Jason and Adam were in the front. Jeff and Amy were in the way back. Matt was in between. He got comfortable in the seat and ran his fingers through his hair as Beyonce began to haunt his mind. Jeff couldn't belive that his brother was dating a black female now. He wasn't racist or anything but this was just something he wasn't all that used to. Jeff could just look into Matt's eyes and tell that he was dangerously in love.

"So Beyonce is your girlfriend, huh?" Jason asked.

"Yeah, it's official now."

"Allanah is gonna be pissed, I forgot to get her an autograph. I saw those other two, LeToya and LaTavia, peeking into the locker room looking at my chest." Adam smiled.

"Look at him glowing like a dumb ass." Jason laughed.

"But anyway, I'm proud of you, man. You got a famous chick." Adam said.

"I told y'all we would end up together but you didn't wanna believe me."

"No, man. We're happy for you. It's just that long distance relationships are hard to survive. Deinise and I go through enough shit as it is. It wouldn't happen though if we weren't so far apart from each other."

"Listen to him, Matt. We have it easier than what you and Beyonce will have because we can see our girlfriends every week. That's not gonna be the case with you and her 'cause she's a singer."

"She told me she was flying to Austrialia tomorrow. But she's just a phone call away. That's how I see it."

"Don't even bother, y'all. He has a lot of faith in her so you ain't gonna change his mind." Jeff said as he put his Stone Temple Pilots CD in the CD Player.

Matt, Adam and Jason looked at Jeff like he was crazy.

"What?" He asked as he sat back down in the backseat.

"We ain't listening to that shit. We listening to Destiny's Child!" Jason said.

"Come on, it's Stone Temple Pilots!"

"Who gives a fuck? You listen to that thing all the time." Adam tossed the CD back to Jeff.

Jeff rolled his eyes as they put Destiny's Child in the CD Player. If he heard "Say My Name" one more time, he would lose his mind. Jeff glanced at Amy, who was sitting next to him. She had a frown on her face and she was staring out the window at the various cars that was passing them by.

"What's wrong, little sister? I don't mean it like it sounds but you did a great job as one the Godfather's ho today." Jeff said as he put his arm around her.

"Thanks. I'm just worried about Matt." She said as she watched Matt sing along to "Bills, Bills, Bills" with Adam and Jason.

Amy rested her head on Jeff's shoulder.
"How come?"

"I've seen this side of Matt. I know what's gonna happen to him. It's like...he loves Beyonce...too much. That's the way he loved me and that's when he's at his most vulnerable stage. No offense to Beyonce but when all this shit is said and done, that's gonna be his downfall. Have you noticed that something's missing on Matt?"

"What?" Jeff noticed that Amy had her serious look on her face and that she never took her eyes off of Matt ever since he asked her what was wrong.

"His necklace. It's not on him. He gave it to Beyonce."

"His good luck necklace?" Jeff looked at Matt's neck and gasped.

"Yeah, he never gave me his necklace. He just bought me the one I wear now. Everything's not as good as it seems. I'm just afraid of him getting hurt...again."

"I am too, Amy."
