Chapter 1

"Sir, a young woman is here to see you, she says she's here to see Mistress Ami", said a young Irish maid in her early twenties.

"Yes Bridget, send her right in", replied a man in his mid thirties. He had brown hair and deep brown eyes. As he sat in a big black, leather chair, he wondered who this woman could be; perhaps it was a doctor who will cure Aim, his wife, perhaps it was a visitor to wish her well. He turned to the door when it softly opened then he stopped dead still. There stood a young woman, a woman he knew, Serena, who could have been mistaken for a 16-year-old if it wasn't for the wisdom in her sky blue eyes and her wedding band, wedding band? He'd have to ask Serene later about it. She had long wavy blonde hair the flowed freely down her back until it reached the ground. Her baby blue eyes the seemed to light the dimly lit office like a bright beacon in the dark. She was about five-six with long shapely legs coming from her navy skirt, she was wearing a baby blue sweater that matched her shining eyes. She smiled at him.

"Greg? " she spoke softly because she was frightened if she spoke to loud it would all be a dream and she would wake up.

"Serena?" asked Greg also afraid it was all just a mere dream."

Greg, is Ami all right, I had a feeling in my chest that something horrible has happened. Tell me Greg what's the matter?" asked Serena her voice becoming shaky.

"Serena, everything is fine", Greg replied in a cool manner that scared Serena, but she looked into his brown eyes and she saw pain and anguish there. "Greg! Tell me dammit, I'm her friend!" Serena slammed her fist onto his desk which took him by surprise.

"You were her friend you haven't seen her in 17 years, you haven't even contacted her at all, do you know how worried we were about you, all of the senshi?!" exclaimed Greg. Serena's eyes welled up with tears waiting to spill over the edge," I know, but I didn't know if I could face them, I was a horrible sailor scout, I didn't deserve to be friends with them, but please just this once tell me. Because, even if I'm no longer her friend, she'll always be mine" finally Serena's walls collapsed and she let all the pain run free in her tears. Her tears streamed out of her eyes and ran in different paths along her cheeks like a river taking its course from a tranquil lake.

" Serena, you'll always be their friends, I guess I got a little carried away and I'm sorry. Ok Serena, I'll tell you", Greg took a deep breath and sighed softly," Ami is dying. Something strange is happening to her that no medical knowledge can explain. Her energy is being sucked from her day by day. I was thinking it was the nega-force but nothing strange has been happening in Tokyo so I don't think that's the reason. She's just dying and I don't know, I don't know what to do", and Greg broke into uneven sobs, " Serena what will I do, we have an eight year old and a three year old, they can't live without their mom, I can't live without her"

" Greg, can I see her? Please?" asked Serena.

Greg nodded." Yes I'll take you to her", and with that Serena and Greg stood and opened the door, not only the office door, but the door to the past, to Serena's past, to a past that was painful, beautiful, fun, and joyous all in one. But as Serena stepped out of that door and opened the other she was knew it would be a painful experience as she opened the past, but she was willing to do it. She was willing to remember for the sake of her friends.
