Sherrick's Wilderness Resort of Minnesota

"The wilderness is a fisherman's paradise!"

"Experience wilderness fishing and seclusion at its best!"

Located on Beautiful Johnson Lake

IN THE CORNER OF VOYAGERS NATIONAL PARK

Imagine a wilderness experience, close to civilization, isolated but with modern conveniences...

This is what Sherrick's is all about. Located on Johnson Lake, there is access to two other isolated wilderness lakes with excellent fishing, fished by few and enjoyed by everyone. It's like taking a fly-in trip into Canada, without having to cross the Canadian border! Isolated, yet just a few hours from every major Midwest city, isolated but close to civilizaiton, isolated but provides modern housekeeping cabins with hot and cold running water, flush toilets, refrigerators and stoves. And if you want more isolation, take a day trip or an extended camping trip into Spring Lake or Lake Lucille.

SHERRICK'S WILDERNESS RESORT is tucked right in the corner of Voyageurs National Park, only 4 miles from Canada. Guests meet at our parking lot where we portage you and your gear by A.T.V. on a hard surface 3/8 mile trail through the wilderness to our landing on Johnson Lake. A 10'x30' pontoon boat will then transport you and your supplies across the lake to the cabins.

Our large and modern housekeeping cabins can accommodate up to 11 people, with the exception of the two fish camp cabins. Select from one, two or three bedrooms, large cooking and dining areas and at least one refrigerator and stove. The lake view from each cabin is breathless. And there in no "noise" - only the cry of a loon and the howl of a timber wolf as the sun sets.

There is a an abundance of wildlife to be seen. Deer, moose, bear, eagles, osprey, ducks, beaver just to name a few. Nesting birds are commonly seen along shore and on islands. To prevent nest abandonment, please keep your distance. Stay away from bald eagles, osprey and Great Blue heron nests. The park exists to preserve this natural environment, and its native plant and animal life, for the benefit of present and future generations.

JOHNSON LAKE has a shoreline of approximately 21 miles with many islands to have a picnic or shore lunch - or just to relax! You might want to hike into Lake Lucille located in the park. Little Johnson and Spring Lake have a total of approximately 13 miles of shoreline and are water accessible from the resort.

"The future of great fishing is in our hands."

The lakes have an abundance of walleye, northern pike, smallmouth bass, and perch. Lakes very in depth to 90 feet. Johnson, Spril and Little Johnson are connected by scenic rivers. Fishing in this part of the north country is world renowned. We do encourage catch and release. Boats, motors, lake maps and guide service are available at the resort. You may bring your own motor, but boats are too difficult to portage in and out.
