Christopher and Nancy (Hatfield) Price

(1) Christopher and Nancy (Hatfield) Price

Christopher married twice. He married Nancy Hatfield in Licking Co, Ohio, April 2, 1809. Nancy was the daughter of Adam Hatfield and Sarah Lawson Lawson. Nancy died 1823 in Licking Co, Ohio. Christopher married Catherine Stewart Febuary 19 1818.

Christopher and Nancy's union produced the following children:

(2) Nehemiah was born MAY 12, 1811.

(2) Christopher was born 1813.

(2) John was born in Ohio 1827

(2) Addison Adam Hatfield was born in Ohio ca 1827. He married Phoebe HUSTON in Franklin Co, Ohio, 14 OCT 1845.Phoebe was born in Ohio 28 JUN 1826.

The family settled in Franklin County,Ohio when Adam was around four years of age, they became pioneer farmers. The elder Adam was a broommaker by trade, and raised his own broomcorn.

Addison Adam grew up and learned the trade of broom making and farming.

Adam met and married Phebe Huston,(born June 28, 1826) daughter of Hugh Huston.

This union produced ten sons.

Adam Price - born: January 3, 1849

John Madison Price - born: November 18, 1850

Pinney Price - born: December 24, 1852

Leroy Price - birthdate not recorded

Asbury Price - born: November 20, 1856

James Hamilton Price - born: June 10, 1860

Samuel Tipton - born: January 10, 1862

Cellman Grant Price - born: January 4,1864

Fred Thurman - born: May 3, 1868


The Hugh Price Family and descendents

(3) Hugh Price married Rilla Corbin and moved his family to wood country, where he entered into the hotel business in Welker (middle of the oil fields).

They had 3 children


(3) Adam Price Family and descendents

Adam Price married Amanda Hord daughter of N.B. (Napoleon Boneparte) and Martha Hord.

Adam was a merchant in his early career, selling dry goods and groceries. He also bought produce from farmers. He used his last name "Price" as his code in marking the price of his goods.

Adam and Amanda had 11 children, 9 daughters and 2 sons.


Pinney Price Family and descendents

(3) Pinney Price, farmer married Eva Thompson. They had 3 children.


The John Madison Price Family and descendents

(3) John Madsion Price, a famrer married Alma Bishop. They had 4 children.


The James Hamilton Price Family and descendents

(3) James Hamilton Price was a schoolteacher, farmer, than later in life a Horticulturist in the State of Washington.

He married Ollie Courtwright and they had 6 children.


Leroy Price

(3) Leroy Price died at the age of 16, not much more is known concerning him.


Asbury Price

(3) Asbury Price was engaged to Jennie Baker when he was thrown from a horse and permanently injured, practically an invalid.

He passed away at 33 years of age.


The Samuel Tipton Price Family and descendents

(3) Samuel Tipton Price was a schoolteacher, County Superintendant of Schools, than later in life he went into real estate.

He married Judith (Tude) Handley and they had 5 children.


The Cellman Price Family and descendents

(3) Cellman Grant Price married Ida Thompson whom died at 1915.

(Story told by Martha May Kiliits third daughter of Adam and Amanda Price)

Cellman was the only one of the sons to follow in his father's trade of broom making. He was a farmer and a good musician. he played the "fiddle" as it was called. He learned to play by ear. He would into his father's workshop and while his father served brooms he would whistle tunes and Cell would play them on the violin. His mother, being a strong Methodist, would object to the "fiddle" saying "The devil was in it." He had to keep it hidden from her or she would have distoryed it. He played many musicial instruments, but the violin was his favorite. The family being all boys (10) had to help there mother with washing. Ma (Amanda) told the story of a visit to the house witnessing Cell taking a bucket of water and basket of clothes out to the line. he would take a shirt dip it up and down in the bucket of water than hang it on the line. Ma had a good laugh over this and than went out and showed him how to rince the clothes before hanging them.

Cellman and Ida had 1 daughter whom died at birth.

Cellman later married Nan Temple. They had 3 sons.


The Fred Thurman Price Family and descendents

(3) Fred Thurman Price married Mary Ann (Moll) Davidson.
Fred Thurman Price was a farmer and superintendent of a big farm for D.M. Pastlewaite for years. he was also a good musican and accompanied Cell on the organ. They played for many country dances. he was the best square dance caller in the country. When Pa and Ma (Adam and Amanda Price) were first married, Fred was a little chap, around 9 years old. The older boys were going to Beechtown (now Jerome) and left Fred with mother. They sat down for dinner one night and Ma passed Fred the apple butter. he immediately said "I don't want that, I have That at home."

Our mother was only 18 years old when she married Pa, so she would play ball with Pa's younger brothers, which pleased them immensely. They had good times together.

Fred and Mary had 10 children. (one name missing) (4) Etta Price born May 29, 1887 married John Rockenbaugh, a farmer. They had six children

(4) Flavy Price born in 1890 marriedLou DeVault, a railroader. They had 3 sons. (4) Lee Price born in 1893 married Florence Billigsley. They had 5 children. (4)Fred Thurman Price Jr.(II) married Verta Billingsley. They had 6 children. (4) Mary Price was bron in 1891 married Talt Smiley, a farmer. They had 7 children.

(4) Marie Price,born in 1893, married Pearl Long, a farmer. They had 6 children.

(4) Hattie Price, born in 1899 married Leonard Hall. They had 3 children.

(4) Hugh Price, born in 1901, an ice dealer married Marie Campbell. They had 1 son.

(4) Mark Price, born in 1904 a laborer married Alma Starner. They had 5 children.
