Black Entertainment Television (BET) is charging into the new millenium with BET.com, a new Internet web site that has been long overdue.
The web site features an array of different subjects, spanning from politics to music, family to comedy, and health to relationship advice. BET.com even features a spot where you can sample music from unsigned artists who are trying to get exposure, as well as music video snippets from artists like D'Angelo and Angie Stone.
The network has been doing just about everything to publicize the new site: commercials, liners on the bottom of the television screens, and a new logo, to name a few. During the week of February 21 to February 25, BET enabled viewers to interact with a plethora of BET personalities like Hits, Michael Colyar, and Rachel, along with Pittsburgh Steeler Jerome Bettis, rapper Busta Rhymes, and "Amen" Actor Clifton Davis.
The web site also provides breaking news, as well as feature stories, Some of the feature stories over the past few weeks include how singer Tyrese is an avid community man, Louis Farrakhan's impact on the world, and the departure of two Destiny's Child members.
For those looking for love, your future partner may be just one click away at BET Loveline. There, fans can post an ad, and others can read about your hobbies and interests. If one chooses not to post an ad, they can read the Lovescopes, which will forecast how your love life will be like in the upcoming week.
BET.com also has health, food, careers, lifestyles, and money sections, along with chat rooms.
Even though the web site is virtually brand new, and there is still room for improvement, BET.com is definitely worth surfing.
