The Castle Collection
The following patterns are not intended for beginners.  They are very large (approx. 35 x 24 inches), intricate designs, most containing at least 100 colors and 265,000+ stitches!  These patterns are done tapestry-style, which means that there is no backstitching, and like tapestries, they will look better from a distance.

Bodiam Castle Counted Cross Stitch Pattern

Bodiam Castle Counted Cross Stitch Pattern
stitch count 453w x 316h

A beautiful picture of England's Bodiam Castle and its reflection in the moat.  The castle was built near Sussex by Sir Eddward Dalyngrygge to protect against any possible French invasions.  It seems to magically "float" in the center of its moat.

Edinburgh Castle Counted Cross Stitch Pattern

Edinburgh Castle Counted Cross Stitch Pattern
stitch count 624w x 426h

Perched atop a massive volcanic rock in Scotland sits the majestic Edinburgh Castle.  Edinburgh Castle now serves as a fully operational military base.  Mary, Queen of Scots gave birth to King James I in a small apartment here.  In a corner of the courtyard still stands the "Witches Well," where many women were found guilty of practicing witchcraft and burned on the spot.

Raby Castle Counted Cross Stitch PatternRaby Castle Counted Cross Stitch Pattern
stitch count 284w x 192h

Raby Castle in England.  Located in the ancient town of Staindrop, the original castle was built by King Cnut in the 11th century.  It was rebuilt in 1387 by the Neville's, and withstood the English Civil War.  The castle is reportedly haunted by three ghosts -- Charles Neville, Henry Vane the Younger, and the first Lady Barnard (whom the staff affectionately called the "Old Hell Cat.")
