Howdy Fellow Fredheads;

Well, after an hour delay at Baltimore, and a bumpy detour around a huge anvil cloud, I'm finally home again.
I have a head full of fine memories, a sketch book full of drawings, T-shirts and CDs, a suntan, aching muscles and a huge bruise on my sternum.
I achieved my personal goal of drinking less and drawing more.
I'm one happy camper.

I left the world of excellent music and the gentle sound of forested hills to return to a hell where they are using jackhammers outside my building. They are rebuilding the plaza area.
They cut down some beautiful trees so they can put in a fountain.......
What a shame.

Thursday

The trees on the mountains of Vermont surrounding Bellows Falls, were green and the weather was awesome!
I stayed at the Whiporwill (a.k.a the tar paper shacks).
The shower was so small that, if I dropped the shampoo, I would have to get out of the shower to bend over to pick it up.
Charlie told me I got the "Honeymoon suite".
Now I know what that means.
Those bedsprings were shot!
On the other hand, as they say, location, location, location! I could just stumble home after the shows.

I started with dinner with good friends at Oona's, then over to the theater.
David Francey, with his scottish accent and fabulous songs just blew me away, as did the Greencards.
Their bass player has a small motor in her hips, and she just never stopped moving.
Most of the males there were hypnotized by the top of her hipbones protruding from her low slung pants.

Then, over to the Windham for real Fredhead action at the open mic. About a dozen fredheads participated.
Peggy and Pete were my favorite band of the night. Real tight licks.
I'd like to thank the audience for their kind applause for my scratchy fiddle version of "I aint ever givin in". Those fredheads are so polite.
later, I got to get out the ol' washboard, and jam with Sam (a local), Peggy and Pete for the finisher!
Oh, what fun.

Then back to the Everyday to jam with all the good folks until waaaaay to late.
Went back to the cabin, cranked the heater, pulled the blanket up over my shoulder, and got a few z's.
