Last night after closing Whiskey Dicks but before going to bed, I apparently tried to call everyone and anyone on my new phone. No one answered at 3 in the morning.
This morning (??) approximately 1:30 pm, my new trac phone rang. “Is someone here trying to reach Dave’s?” It was my Dave from my hookah tribe!
Here is where the Karma kicks in:
A couple weeks earlier Dave had shut his cell phone service off because of account problems. Then Friday he received a bill for this service. Frustrated he found the old phone and turned it on. Low and Behold, it was active. So he put the phone on the counter to take it in the next morning to get this issue resolved. In the morning when he picked up the phone, there was a message on it! This phone hadn’t been turned on for 3 weeks!
It took a moment to figure out who was calling who; he didn’t know I had a phone and I didn’t realize he had a different number. But then…
”Dude! Whassup?!”
I told him I was thinking about riding up to Cleveland and was wondering when a good time would be.
”Dude! You gotta come up tonight, Birthday Bonfire for Chad!
It was too unreal. I was given directions to a farm in some other part of Ohio where pretty much the whole rest of the tribe was gathered.
I can’t wait to see what is in store for Labor Day weekend!!
