Rebecca Vail(1.11), daughter of Samuel and Deziah (Jennings)(1) Vail, was born 12 November 1798 in Pennsylvania.51 On 02 January 1816 in Butler County, Ohio, she married James Stephens Clawson.52 He was born 31 May 1795 in Fayette County, Pennsylvania.53 James was the son of Andrew and Mary (Russell) Clawson.54 Rebecca and James had eleven children:55

Phebe Vail(1.13), daughter of Samuel and Deziah (Jennings)(1) Vail, was born 19 August 1805 in Butler County, Ohio.59 On 19 August 1819 in Butler County, Ohio, she married John A. Burley.60 He was born 16 June 1798 in Pennsylvania.61 Phebe and John had six children:

Isaac Jacob Jennings(4.1), son of Peter(4) Jennings, Sr., was born 28 May 1787 in Hunterdon County, New Jersey.62 In New Jersey he married Mary Johnson.63 She was born in 1788 in New Jersey.64 Mary was the daughter of Peter Johnson.65 Isaac served during the War of 1812.66 Isaac and Mary had three children:67

Isaac was a farmer.68 The family travelled west to Carroll County, Ohio, in 1836, where Isaac purchased 80 acres in Monroe Township Section 10.69 Isaac was a Republican.70 Mary died 14 July 1859 and was buried in Big Spring Cemetery.71 Isaac died 19 November 1863, and also was buried in Big Spring Cemetery.72

Mary Jennings(4.2) was the daughter of Peter(4) Jennings, Sr.

William Jennings(4.3) was the son of Peter(4) Jennings, Sr. William married ________ Hamilton.73 They had two sons:.74

Sarah Jennings(4.4), daughter of Peter(4) Jennings, Sr., was born 29 August 1794 in New Jersey.75 She married James Counover. He was born 05 December 1789 in New Jersey.76 Sarah and James had one son:

Desire Elizabeth Jennings(4.5), daughter of Peter(4) Jennings, Sr., was born 13 February 1797 in Hunterdon County, New Jersey.79 On 30 July 1817, she married Peter Eick.80 He was born 06 September 1791 in Hunterdon County, New Jersey.81 Peter was the son of Peter and Margaret (Hopler) Eick.82 Desire and Peter had seven children.83 Desire and Peter had two children in New Jersey:

In 1821, Peter and Desire travelled west to Carroll County, Ohio, in a wagon; they would have returned to New Jersey, but did not have enough money.84 Their other children were born in Carroll County, Ohio:

Peter was a farmer.85 In 1849, they moved to Sherrodsville, Ohio, as their previous home was given to their son Peter upon his marriage.86 Peter and Desire were members of the Presbyterian Church for over forty years, and Peter voted as a Whig until 1855, at which time he changed to a Republican.87 He was elected several times as township trustee.88 Desire died 25 August 1880 and was buried in Zion Cemetery.89 Peter, Sr., died 17 December 1882 and also was buried in Zion Cemetery.90

Jemima Jinnings(4.6), daughter of Peter(4) Jennings, Sr., was born 06 July 1800 in New Jersey. On 13 September 1825, in Tuscarawas County, Ohio, she married Jacob Helwig.91 He was born 10 September 1804 in Jefferson County, Ohio.92 Jacob was the son of George Helwig.93 Jemima and Jacob had five children:

Jacob was a farmer.94 Jeminy died in 1835. After her death, Jacob remarried to Sarah Gossage.95 She was born in 1806 in Pennsylvania.96 On 03 November 1841, Jacob moved his family west to Troy Township, DeKalb County, Indiana.97 Jacob and Sarah had five other children. Jacob was active politically, serving as a state legislator from 1843-1844, serving two terms as a County Comissioner, and one term as County Treasurer.98 He died 10 December 1869.99

Peter Jennings, II(4.7), son of Peter(4) Jennings, Sr., was born 13 September 1802 in Germantown, Hunterdon County, New Jersey.100 On 29 April 1829, in Tuscarawas County, Ohio, he married Catherine Rainsberger.101 She was born 14 January 1806 in Jefferson County, Ohio.102 Catherine was the daughter of John Rainsberger.103 They had eight children. Six were born in Ohio:

In 1843, Peter and Catherine moved their family by ox and horse teams to Section 29 of Troy Township, DeKalb County, Indiana, eventually acquiring over 200 acres.104 They had two more children in Indiana:

Peter was a farmer.105 Catherine became a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in 1827.106 She died 20 February 1881 in Troy Township, DeKalb County, Indiana, and was buried in Farnham Cemetery.107 Her funeral was held at Wittenburg Chapel.108 Peter died 03 December 1892 in Edgerton, Williams County, Ohio, and also was buried in Farnham Cemetery.109 His funeral was held 05 December 1892 at Wittenberg Chapel.110
