The first annual Vidpust-Pilgrimage for our Metropolia was held on Sunday, July 4 on the grounds of the Metropolia Center in Northern Ohio. The theme of the pilgrimage was dedicated to Mary, the Mother of God and there was a special Holy Year blessing for the pilgrims. Opportunity was afforded for Confession and the Divine Liturgy was celebrated.
The center is located on 325 acres of land on which is situated the Metropolitan's Residence, social hall seating 150, offices and a shrine to Our Lady of Perpetual Help. Plans are being discussed for a senior center with assisted living, nursing facility as well as a condiminium complex and cemetery. Ground is expected to be broken in the fall for the addition of a chapel adjacent to the episcopal residence.
Located by the shores of Lake Erie, the Metropolia Center is located on beautiful, senic grounds on the estate of Metropolitan Stephan.
The Vidpust will presently become an annual event and expanded next year to include charter busses from parishes in the Cleveland and other areas. Please follow the tour of this year's Pilgrimage.
