26. Habu 8 Snake patch This is the original version of the progression from "OL-8" to "OL-RK" to "OL-KA" to "Det 1". It was first used by the CIA A-12 crews, then when SAC took over the mission, it was adopted by the SAC crews. "OL" stands for Operating Location", "Det" is detachment, in case you didn't know. -John Stone

31. 9th Wing(for the refueling jets) This was the interim patch used after ACC, took over from SAC, during the reorganization of the Air Force, there was no SAC, so hence no "Strategic", it was changed quickly to the 9th RW, the new patch actually has "Semper Paratus". I also think that the SRs were retired during this time period and were not brought back till they switched over to the 9 RW. -John Stone

Many of the patches on this page are not offical SR-71 patches, they are the kind that you can find in gift shops around the world so just keep your eyes open for anything different, it would help if you could send me pictures of the patches I don't have listed on this page.
