The Story... as written by Kangarette....

Ok, so the majority of you know that I met kangaroo in CDU, quite funny actually....there I was just chatting away when this private notice comes across my screen....it was a dirty joke from kangaroo. I had never really chatted to him before now, and I was in hysterics at this joke. I was also in total confusion as to why he hadn't been booted for saying what he'd said in the main room. I liked his sense of humour and thought to myself "I have to get to know this guy a bit better". Soooooo hundreds of hours later in chat (and I have the ISP bill to prove it....just took me 6 months to pay it off) and many hours on the phone, we had gotten to know each other very well in the space of about 6 weeks. Then there's this notice about a CDU party in Sydney on Saturday March 20 1999. I ask him if he's going to come up to Melbourne for it, and he said he wasnt sure.

Anyway he decides that he's going to come up for it and because my kids were spending the week at their fathers house I said he, Jake3977 and Hangman could stay with me for the weekend as I had plenty of beds that wouldn't be used that weekend.

Friday 19th March, 11pm....I'm pulling beers at the pub that I was working in and I get this phone call, it was Hangman....we're in the car and we've blown the motor up, it looks like we can't make it to Sydney now. I was absolutely devastated....I was really looking forward to meeting kangaroo (Adam). So anyway I go home from work at 2am in the foulest of moods, and couldn't sleep so I logged on and went into CDU. Next thing I know its 5.30 am and I'm tired so I decide to hit the sack......6am (only half an hour after I fall asleep) my phone rings....I sleepily answer it only to hear Hangy's voice telling me they are at Yass! OMG Yass is only a 3 hour drive from my place!!!!

Anyway they finally arrive, and after a few hassles we are on our way to the party. Me and Hangy are in the back seat slapping each other and poking and yelling "are we there yet??? are we there yet???" Adam gets angry at Jake in the car and jumps out and starts walking. After several failed attempts to get him to get back in the car, we decided to let him walk!!

We get to Scruffy Murphy's and about an hour later in walks/staggers a worn out looking Roo. Must have been all those beers he drank along the way...he stopped at nearly every pub he passed!!! lol. Anyway he walks in and in a flash I was by his side as he bought himself a beer. The night is cruising along just fine and with the encouragement of Imacheekything and a few beers, I finally plucked up the courage to kiss him! And holy moly if that kiss didn't make me wanna nearly pass out I don't know what would!!!!! After this we were inseparable.

After the party, we get back to my place minus Hangman who had decided to linger on in Sydney, and Jake and I had one hell of a time getting a very drunk (and heavy) Roo out of the car and into the house! The next day we awoke with the hangover from hell and just laid there groaning and looking at each other. I got the Panadeine Forte for the 2 of us and then we went back to sleep!

After the guys left to head back to Melbourne, I sat in CDU and waited for Roo to get home and log on, as I was already desperately missing him. (hopeless arent I??? lol) Anyway I couldn't wait any longer...I called him on his mobile phone! He said he was only 2 hours away from home so I waited and sure enough, the next thing I see is kangaroo logging in!! YAYAYAY.

We chatted for what seemed like an eternity and plans were made that I was going to drive down to Melbourne in 3 weeks time for a week. He couldn't wait that long and asked me to come down a week earlier and stay for 2 weeks. Soooooo the kids and I packed the car and headed on a 10 hour journey to Melbourne for 2 weeks. After 8 hours and 45 mins of the kids fighting and screaming on the backseat, I was ready to stop the car and dump them. Im driving through the city of Melbourne....totally lost when my mobile phone starts ringing....it was Adam. I told him I was lost so he talked me through the drive throught the city and out onto the freeway....I'm glad I wasn't paying that phone bill!!! By the time I arrived in his area I was sooooo tired (and being a girl......so worried about how I looked after a 10 hour drive) that I didn't see him on the road and almost ran him over!!!

After a week with him I knew "this is the man for me" and I didn't want to go home, so jokingly he said to me...well don't go!! lol He knew I had to go, but my lease was due to run out on my house and I had fallen in love with the city in which he lived! So I made the decision to moved to Frankston.

6 weeks after getting back to Sydney, I had packed up my house, transfered the kids school, had a farewell party and was in the car with my beloved Adam and the kids and moving house!!!

One night after Adam, Jake, myself and the kids had gone out to dinner at the local RSL Club, the topic of marriage had come up in conversation. Adam by this time had quite a few beers under his belt and he dared me to ring the church the next morning to speak to the minister about getting married in a months time!! Mind you though...the whole time he kept saying..."you wont do it coz yer chicken $h!t" and paraded around the loungeroom like a chicken!! lol what a sight!!

Next morning I get up and ring the church and book us in for a meeting with the minister! Friday 17 September 1999 at 11am being the date and time set for us to exchange our vows!

The wedding was a secret from all our families and friends except for Wiggle, Jake and 2 non-chatters and of course the minister...not even the kids knew until that morning!!

So hear I was....a bundle of nerves on the morning of my wedding, and what do I do??? I log on and go into CDU!! Then I make a quick exit to go and get my hair done so that I can be back in time to get my makeup done! Anyway the day went extremely well...except for the gale force winds, and I'm happy to say that ever since I met Adam on the net and in real life I have never looked back! I love him so dearly and am looking forward to spending the rest of my life with him! Have I bored you all yet?? Are you requiring buckets?? lol.

P.S here is a poem I wrote for him for our wedding day....I forgot to give it to him. LOL oh well....ya get that!!
