The KKK claims to be;
1. For the protection and future success of the "white race".
2. For the protection of Christianity, and the ability to worship God
as members see fit.
3. For racial separation.
4. For the banning of homo-sexuality and interracial marriages.
5. Protection of "White Pride"
6. For the protection of the Constitution of the United States of America,
and the protection of the Freedom of Speech.
Ok, as I said, I believe everyone is entitled to their beliefs, and to the peaceful demonstration/teaching of those beliefs to others, so as to increase understanding between different groups, and, with that being said, I would like to go over a few things about this group of people.
Going back to the list things the KKK is said to stand for (and I found this information doing research on the internet, www.kkk.com, www.k-k-k.com and related sites, I did not get it from the media, a second party, or my own ideas about this group)....
1. First and foremost it would seem on all of their sites, made by Klansmen, seems to be the "Protection of the rights, and the advancement of the white race". To me, I don't see how such a goal is a worthwhile endeavor, nor do I see it's relevance to this planet Earth or to the advancement of the human race as a whole. Concentrating one on group, your own, to give strength and guidance to that select few will only lead to the ignorance of other peoples not inside your clique, who may need help or aid, which brings me to their big #2.
2. "The protection of Christianity, and the ability of members to worship God as they see fit." Apparently, Klansmen have invented their own Christianity, because they distort and deform many of the teachings of Christ just by simply existing. Christ wanted to help all people in need of it. He did not hand people an application for aid, he did not require they be white, black, jewish, catholic, Muslim, or anything, he simply wanted to help mankind. This part of this religion is built entirely on the love and aid of all mankind, not the select protection and attention to one group. Turning your back on the rest of the world is indeed not the Christian way, and as such avid protectors of the Christian Religion, it would be nice if the members of the KKK starting practicing it. It is my belief that there is a God, a being that created all that is. It is also my belief that ALL religions are rooted in the belief in this being as they were made to understand their existence. The main idea of most religions is to make the world a better place... creating ignorance to other races, religions, and cultures only creates fear and hatred of those groups, and in the long run, creates war. The only way the world can advance is if there is peace, and that can only be achieved through knowledge and understanding of others and their cultures.
3. "Racial separation", as I said, the only way to peace, and the true advancement of this planet's people, as they were put here to advance and grow, is the sharing of knowledge in culture and religion. Thinking that your religious beliefs are the only way to go, and that everyone that refuses to see things your way is going to hell, holds no logical barring what so ever. Why would a supreme being create a "Heaven" and an Earth, only to see 75% of the beings he created to live there rejected or destroyed? Come on now. Worship is a personal thing. It is the relationship between a being and it's creator, whether you believe in Allah, God, or have no belief in religion at all, it's your personal understanding of how things are, and why your life is precious. It should not be a huge system regulated by a select group as the only way to think, that removes the personal aspects of the entire situation and you are just left with a set of rules and stories you follow because you are told you have to, not because you want to. Religion is a deep personal matter, and while I consider my self a Christian of sorts, I do not believe I am any better, smarter or going to get into "Heaven" any faster than those with other beliefs. The entire set up would be utter nonsense any other way.
4. The banning of homo-sexuality and interracial relationships. All I can say here is, why? Who cares? If it's against your religion, especially Christianity, I believe judging others is as well. If you think these people will be punished by God, then be quiet and let it happen, you are not God, and you are no one to think you can take his place as judge. Even if you are not Christian, the views on homosexuality are different, but it's never a good idea to over step your boundaries and decide what is best for others. It has been found that the brain of a homosexual is different than that of a heterosexual, a homosexual does not wake up one day and say "Ya' know, I've done this whole hetero thing for a while, I think I'll be gay from now on." They are born that way. It's not a choice it's a preference. Some people like chocolate, some people do not, their brains are different, it finds different things attractive to it's senses, this does not mean we should only like people that like chocolate, it makes no sense, it's irrelevant in the big picture, it's not our place to judge people, especially for something so trivial. As far as interracial relationships go... well.... the KKK is all about not making sense aren't they? This is the greatest sign of peace there is, two human beings of different background and race coming together bound in love. Why would someone want this to end? Why would someone demand that everyone should be ignorant to the ways of others? Why would someone welcome the coming of war with such open arms? It makes me sick, personally, but again, I don't try to judge the KKK members for their thoughts and beliefs, I am only adding my thoughts as relates to their own, so as to peacefully inform others on my beliefs, so that we can understand one another.
5. Protection of "White Pride". To me, this is highly illogical. How can someone take pride in something they have no control over? Something they had no hand in the creation of? Something that could have very easily gone a different way in an infinite number of results. I was born a white heterosexual male. Am I proud of this? No. I see no reason to be proud of it, I didn't do anything to be this way, I just happened, and here I am. I could have very easily have become a black homosexual female, it just turns out I ended up the way I am, and like it or not, it's the same way for everyone. Nobody chose to be what they are, they just happened to turn out that way, being proud of that is like being proud that you have 22 eyelashes, or because you have a sight, it just happens to be. I can get along with mostly anyone, of any race, culture, and religion, am I proud of that? Yes. I am proud that I CHOSE knowledge over ignorance, friendship over hatred. Hatred and Ignorance are very easy things to accept, friendship and knowledge have to be earned and are worthy of pride.
6. Protection of the Constitution of the United States of America and the protection of the Freedom of Speech. If a group of people really stand to protect these things, they'd follow what it stands for, what is written on it. Like it or not, KKK members have burnt down churches and temples simply because they had a black following. So, apparently, not only are all men NOT created equal, a direct contradiction to the very ideas this country was founded on, but some are not even able to practice their FREE SPEECH by practicing their religion, which as it turns out, in these church burning incidents, were Christian Churches, the very religion the Klan claims to want to protect. To protect the Christian religion is to burn it's houses of worship to the ground, and to protect the constitution is to stand in direct opposition of it's ideas. So, it could easily be assumed that the Ku Klux Klan has it's own language. A language in which the word "protect" takes the meaning of the word "destroy".
The KKK is based on illogical ideas and general ignorance. I support their right to these beliefs, but I also peacefully disagree with them. This is what the KKK could help out the rest of the world by learning to do, peacefully disagree. There can be disagreement without a fight, there can be compromise without loss, you just have to try. Taking the easy way out of life by choosing to hate and be ignorant to the ways of the world is a waste of a life in my opinion, and there is no greater cause, than the preservation of all life and the advancement of all mankind.
