Emergency Information Booth

During an Emergency, I think that If you have communication, a lot of problems and the emergency itself can be solved. Here are somethings to help you in an emergency:

Getting Help on the Radio

1. Repeatedly broadcast the following information on the frequency:
a. Your name
b. Your location
c. The problem that you are encountering, if it is an accident - please advise the number of injuries.
2. Don't always expect to get a response from the police or a REACT member. Many times we are able to hear you, but we won't be able to get back to you due to noise conditions, terrain, or having your squelch on.
3. Repeat the message in #1 every 2 minutes until help arrives or you receive a response.
4. If after 15 minutes still no help arrives, leave the scene in search of assistance.
5. Many times REACT monitors in the midwest have answered and reported calls in the south and northeast depending on which way the "skip" was rolling that particular day.
