Gathering Ice

The pristine waters of Bantam Lake provided ice not only for the city of Brooklyn, New York but also and especially for the boys of Camp Wonposet. For years Camp Wonposet used a saw powered by the motor of a Model T Ford to cut the ice, which was stored in the cork-filled ice house which still stands behind the Lodge and kitchen.
