silverchair is the winner, for the fourth year in a row, of the "Australian Artist of the Year" ARIA award!

silverchair will headline this year's "Falls Festival" in Canada. They will perform just before midnight on New Years Eve, which makes it their only gig this year.

silverchair has split with their label murmur/Sony, and now Sony is going to release a compilation album of existing silverchair recordings within weeks. None of the members of silverchair are involved in the making of this double CD, it's Sony's project.

Daniel Johns will appear in a new Australian TV drama titled "Love is a Four Letter Word", it'll debut in February, and Daniel Johns will appear on it in April/May. There will also be new silverchair songs on the show.

Silverchair has won the Australian Artist of the Year for the third year on the Australian Live Music Awards.
They also won Australia's people's choice award for "Anthem For The Year 2000" on the 1999 MTV Music Awards. That is their second award from MTV.
