WECOME SCOA ASSOCIATES
My name is Mike Stacey. I started with Schiff Shoes in 1967 in my home town of East Liverpool, Ohio. I started as a stock person and later became assistant store manger under Chuck Averell. After four years in the Navy, Erny Franks (Regional Manger), made my move to Columbus, Ohio, so easy. I managed many of the Columbus area stores from 1975 to 1987. My last store was the Westland Mall store. Although not in this store full time, with the help of many good assistant managers, myself and Ken Dermers took care of many stores along with working out of many locations designing plan-o-grams and window set pictures. This was done under Ben Steven's watchful eye. Thank you Ben!
I made a lot of great friends and mentors along the way. I owe my success because of the great people listed: Chuck Averell, Don Unger, Enry Franks, Leonard Temple, Ben Stevens, Lou Daughtery, Jim Waldren, Bernie Gutman, Dave Robinson, Mel Wilson, Greg Norris, Ken Dermers, and Dennis Tishkoff. Dave, I bet you thought I forgot you. You would not let me anyway, so here's to my best friend David Stickler.
The final part of SCOA was ended in the spring of 2000. Dennis Tishkoff's leased shoe divison, operated out of the 2035 Innis Road, Columbus, Ohio, was sold. Shoe Corporation will live on in many great memories. Calypso Logistics is now at 2035 Innis Road.
