STRANGE ANIMAL REPORTS FROM THE PAST!
By Scott McClean
“This is a collection of newspaper and other media clippings that details strange, hairy, man-like creatures. I don’t claim that they prove anything, just that they provide an interesting historical timeline.” This is how Scott McClean starts his introduction to you in his new book SASQUATCH, BIGFOOT, WILDMEN, YETI & OTHER BIG NEWS PRINTS… STRANGE ANIMAL REPORTS FROM THE PAST! He has done a marvelous job of putting the articles not only in chronological order, but he has gone state by state alphabetically and listed each article chronologically for that state. McClean has managed to locate at least 464 articles ranging from as long ago as 1764 to as recent as 2000. At least, that’s what he has in his hard copy issue of the book. If you were to order the book on CD-R you’d find at least 100 additional articles that he located after the hard copy issue was ready for print.
For additional information on the book, ordering information, etc., just go to his web site at http://www.mcclean.org I’d highly recommend this collection for anyone interested in the historical significance of Bigfoot or Wildman accounts in north America. The vast majority of the articles in his collection are indeed from north america, but there are a few other countries represented here and there throughout the collection.
McClean also has a few odds and ends available for purchase on his web site, such as a couple versions of Bigfoot stickers. When you view his site and see the prices for his material, you at first may think they are a bit steep. However, seeing what he has amassed in the book, realizing how long it took to collect all of these articles, reduce or enlarge them in size for publishing sake, placing them in chronological order and so on, the price in a huge bargain. I give this book 5 out of 5 stars in my recommendation. Anyone with even the slightest hint of interest in the Bigfoot phenomenon should add this significant collection of archived historical accounts to their library.
