Mysterious noises have been heard by several people at a camping area near Newcomerstown in the past few weeks, coinciding with reports of Bigfoot being in Ohio.
Kevin White, one of the campers, related this story.
"I was in the trailer the other night and heard loud, heavy, running through the woods behind the trailer. It was too loud and heavy sounding to be an animal or a human.
"A short time later, from across the lake, we heard screaming. I've never heard anythingl ike it."
On another accasion, White said they heard a small animal screaming like it was being hurt. The next day, they walked through the area and found a rabbit "ripped" open and mutilated, but not eaten.
"I don't know what to think," White said, "but I sure am scared."
Philip Donely and Donna Sharpy, plus four or five others, gave this story.
"We were sitting around the campfire the other night and we all started hearing loud noises, like big branches were being broken off the trees. A few minutes later there was heavy walking.
"At first we thought it might be the moose that was reported loose, but we found out they had caught it. There was no wind blowing or no one walking around but four or five trailers down, some large homemade wind chimes started making alot of noise. We got a spotlight and looked around the area but we couldn't find anything."
Donley said he felt there was something in the area but he didn't know what.
Several people in the camping area left after hearing the noises.
