Once, I was filled with anger and hatred/
The stress had piled like bricks and I couldnt take it/
So then I had to sit down and write about what I hold sacred/
Find what was inside cause I Know I'm not vacant/
Once, I was a shorty, Now I'm a grown man/
Used to find comfort in others but Now I alone stand/
Was satisfied with an apartment, Now I want my own land/
Purchase a home and, create a Known plan/
Once in a lifetime, I was a poison animal eater/
You say Life is complicated? Well, I'm a Manual reader/
That's my key to success, my life is handled neater/
"Once in a lifetime?" Well, thats like a Annual Theater/
Once, we had Knowledge, Now we got belief/
Brothers held down by deceit and feeling deep grief/
Trapped as Savages, going to war on hot streets/
The smell of rot meat when Brothers got beef/
Once, we was Righteous Kings and Queens with Priceless rings and dreams/
Now nightstick swings and fiends Equal lifeless things it seems/
What this life just brings is mean. Not quite just to me extreme/
As as I write this theme let the light mist reign supreme/
Once, we were Lords and laborers of our own countries/
Now we labor for New Lords for a welfare montly/
From India, Japan, Africa, Asia was in touch with Nature but we/
Was seperated from our Lands and Clans now Uncle Sam want me/
Once, I sat and watched a sunrise that matched twelve wonders/
As it splashed light fading last night with Pastel colors/
Then it faded, clouds seperated as fast fell others/
Overcome by a storm like mass hell thunders/
Once, I ran the streets and never planned to meet/
The Righteous man in me, Now that's all I can stand to Be/
Get in touch wit' so much shit, make reality from Fantasy/
Eliminate the Hectic and stay connected to my Universal Family/
Once, it was easy, Now it takes time to make rhymes/
So I write poems like light shone from this Great Mind/
No longer caught up in Illusions lik trying to escape time/
Got my goals in tact, refer back to the 8th Line/
Once in a lifetime, we used Righteous actions to win/
Now the True and Livin' Men and Women are passin' the sin/
Saving our Selves in this modern-day adaption we in/
If we only pay attention to it once in a lifetime, we won't see it happen again/
