"This is the kind of civilization we have to deal with? When is this going to stop? Kids are running around like it's a Western. It's no Western."
The RZA went on to speak of how everybody knows about the crime, but nobody does anything about it, and how it takes a more than just a few to help.
"It's like pouring water on the desert," he said. "We called him General because that's how he moved. All the brother ever showed was love."
Echoing the general feelings of everyone there the RZA said, "The parents have got to put a stop to it. All you girls out there that run around and think it's fun when your man does this kind of thing, you have got to stop it. The murder rate in this place is like a big city."
Speaking on the character of Wise God, the RZA spoke, "He spread 'do unto others as you would have them do unto you.' That's how he spread the word. You've got Crips and Bloods running around Steubenville. They've been in this 74-block radius shooting each other. Are we going to be here again next month? Snap out of it, all right? Peace."
The Rev. Calvin McLoyd Jr., Second Baptist Church, gave the eulogy. In it he also spoke of the ways things must change.
"We are our brother's keeper. There is some responsibility that we all must share. There are some things we share," he said. We share life. It's not up to us to take life. Retaliation is not the answer."

We all have different journeys
Different paths along the way,
We all are meant to learn some things,
But never meant to stay...
Our destination is a place,
Far greater than we know.
For some the journey quicker,
For some, the journey slow.
And when the journey finally ends,
We'll claim a great reward,
And find an everlasting Peace.
