After the unexpected success of Jimmy Joe and the BOX, about a year went by when I finally decided to do what everyone was asking me to do. I was to join the long line of people who have taken their masterpiece and taken it to the next level. It's happened with Jaws, Roots, Jurassic Park, and, of course, the Jason movies.
That's right.
I was to write...
A sequel.
And so it was written. Jimmy Joe and the BOX II: Return From the BOX debuted early in 1996. It featured Jimmy Joe coming back from the Box to visit his parents, and disaster striking when the Box begins doing things that aren't exactly wanted.
The story was quickly nabbed up, but people had mixed reactions. It, like most sequels, couldn't compare to the original.
It had its problems. First it was to short. In an attempt to release it quickly to the waiting public, I had actually made it slightly shorter than the original! People did not like this. There simply wasn't enough story. It was very flitty.
And, for that reason, I am doing what George Lucas did to his immensely popular Star Wars trilogy: I am going to re-release it. My definitive vision. Jimmy Joe and the BOX II will rise again. It will go through a major remake process. I'm sorry that I can't provide you with the tale. But, there is only one copy in the world, and I have it. It does not exist on any computer anywhere. The only copy is printed on a yellowing sheet of paper inside one of my planning books. Sorry for the trouble.
