Someone approached me and asked what made me a woman
I thought on that for a second and said:
What makes me a woman?
It's my intelligence. The way I think for myself and not for others
How I constantly feed your mind with food for thought
What makes me a woman?
It's my strength. The way I take all the wrongs and bad that come my direction
Yet find a way to make it through the minute, the day, the year...
What makes me a woman?
It's my demeanor, the way that I carry myself
That thing that lets you know that I am not to be underestimated.
What makes me a woman?
It's my beauty. The gleam of my eyes. The radiance of my face.
The way that I command attention when I grace a room.
What makes me a woman?
It's the way I please my man, take care of the kids and home, manage a career,
And all without complaining.
What makes me a woman?
It's my tenderness, my compassion, the comfort of my embrace.
My presence that lets you know everything will be alright.
And while I am all these things I am also human.
I am not perfect, I make mistakes, I am wrong at times
And my ability to admit these faults is what really makes me a woman.
