My Pond
My pond was built August 1997. It houses 12 Comets and 4 Koi and some goldfish . The bird bath is a great hit with the birds and it overflows into the pond and forms a little waterfall.
I've got a biological filter that feeds the bird bath.
I made so many mistakes building my pond, even after I looked at hundreds of pond pages on the net and studied numerous plans. The first big mistake was that the liner showed after I filled it with water.
I did not realise that it would look bad and it didn't look bad at the time, so I left it like that.
After a while the liner became dirty and a white precipitate formed where the surface of the water touched the liner. It looked terrible!!! Well, I rectified the problem since and I am so happy with the result!
I am putting the basic plan of the pond in here again. I hope I can help someone out there by preventing him from making the same mistakes as me.
Spring 2000. The pond is overgrown and the excessive plants must be removed.
The Koi's are still asleep but the other goldfish are enjoying breakfast.
