The 1997 Youth National Championships took place in Whitehorse Yukon over May 16-18, Eleven provinces and territories sent teams of four juniors and four seniors to compete for the team, doubles and singles titles.
SARAH MORGAN of Alberta, and MIKE SIETSMA of Ontario, won the Canadian Youth Masters qualifier. They will compete in the World Youth Masters held in England in December. Also due to receive invitations to the Masters are Eric Valieres and Sabrina Otis, both of Quebec, Diane Spearman, of Saskatchewan, and JUSTIN HANNAH of Ontario.
