I discovered Jerry Garcia and the Grateful Dead in 1989 and 1990. I cried when Jerry died. We lost a great band when the Dead broke up. Of course, it wouldn't be the Dead without Jerry.
This is a pic of my sister at the last Dead concert held in Ohio. This pic
typifies (in my mind) the whole Dead attitude...Love, peace, do your own
thing. There always seemed to be bubbles floating in the air at the Dead
concerts.
I suppose I shouldn't be surprised that I became a Deadhead, regardless
of when or why...My father loves bluegrass music. My mother enjoys country...
I guess the Grateful Dead's music was an extension of my parents tastes
in music.
