        DUTIES OF THE PROSECUTOR

        The prosecuting attorney prosecutes all criminal actions in the name of the State of Ohio and serves as chief legal counsel to the county.

           
        • The prosecutor is responsible for the prosecution of all felony, misdemeanor and traffic offenses that occur within the county.

        • The prosecutor represents all elected county officials, all agencies, boards and commissions that are part of county government as well as school districts and the fourteen townships that comprise Carroll County.

        • The prosecutor also has the responsibility to prosecute all juvenile cases including child abuse, neglect, dependency, unruly and delinquency cases.

        • The prosecutor also provides legal counsel to the Carroll County Child Support Enforcement Agency in the enforcement of child support orders.  These services include the establishment and enforcement of child support orders, action filed pursuant to the Uniform Reciprocal Enforcement of Support Act (URESA) and criminal non-support actions.
