"PARI PER SUE"

August 7, 1997

Sue Ellen told Miss Ellie that she was finished taking J.R.'s crap and wasn't going to let him hurt her anymore. She received her inspiration when she received a lingerie catalogue in the mail and J.R. went off on how sleazy the women who posed for those catalogues must be. Like any Ewing, she then bought out a lingerie company owned by a man named Ozwald Valentine to use for her own ends.

Mandy almost met a premature end when she stepped into the street and was nearly hit by a car, but was rescued (damn) by Sue Ellen's private detective, who is keeping close tabs on her. Later, Mandy learned that a sinister man was following her. By the end of the day, she finally realized that it was, in fact, the same man who rescued her earlier in the day. She then tattled to J.R., who will no doubt get to the bottom of this.

J.R., annoyed by Jack's refusal to sell his share in Ewing Oil to him, told Jack to stay away from Southfork. He then went to Cliff, who told Jack that if he ever needed to sell his shares, he knew where he could go.

Another part of Pam's dream became a shocking reality when Jeremy Wendell offered to buy Ewing Oil, but the brothers Ewing stood united and said no. Bobby reopened the field which was sabotaged after having a heart-to-heart with one of the men he'd laid off who gave him a guilt trip.

Macho Man Ray Krebbs, obviously resentful that he's still a cowpoke and his wife's a big Washington lobbyist, told Donna that he knew he'd never be what she wanted him to be, and he didn't care anymore, and maybe they should call it quits. He needed a woman who would be there for him, and Donna just wasn't cutting it. This may have been brought on by Ray's bruised male ego and the fact that he's devoting more than a little extra time to Jenna.

Cliff and Jamie are also having their troubles, mainly in that Cliff is impotent. Jamie theorized on what could be the cause of Cliff's problem, and Cliff explained that it had all started with their marriage, and that it just wasn't working. Jamie reassured him that they would "straighten it out". (Insert your own joke here.)

Finally, J.R. and a military general shared a game of golf and had lunch at a country club, where J.R. asked about the general's plans to enter the political arena, though the general was doubtful. They got onto the topic of the rapidly dropping price of oil due to the Saudi Arabian drilling, and J.R. suggesting sending a small tactical force to Saudi Arabia to sabotage their operations. The general disagreed, stating that we should just send in the bombers and blow their wells to kingdom come, a prospect which seem to please J.R....
