The Man in Black returned and appeared in J.R.'s hospital room, where he told J.R. that the police were not going to press charges on him, Bobby, and Ray for killing Calhoun, mainly since they did the government a favor by doing so.

J.R. and Sue Ellen decided that they loved each other again.

It was revealed that J.R. and April are actually in cahoots and she is feeding Jeremy Wendell *exactly* what J.R. wants him to hear. April wanted J.R. to stick around and talk, but J.R. told her that if he wants someone to talk to, he'll talk to his wife. April is now very upset that she doesn't have any friends. Maybe if she wasn't such a money-grabbing bitch, she would! But you still can't help feeling sorry for the poor thing. She even lied to her mother over the phone and told her she was dating a very nice bank teller, whilst stifling tears.

Charlie hitched a ride to Ray's house and asked him why he and Jenna couldn't see each other anymore. She told him Jenna really missed him and was so upset she was forcing her to drink orange juice and insisted on checking her homework. He said it was complicated. She then walked all the way home, since she didn't have a ride.

Cliff lost his deal with the oil company he was going to buy, who turned around and sold it to Ewing Oil. J.R. also learned that Pam was the leak in the family.

Clayton and Miss Ellie went to Oklahoma City to buy a desk.

Ozwald Valentine found a new Valentine Girl in California, and returned to tell Sue Ellen that the West Coast branch was struggling a little, seeing as Jamie had been on vacation for a month in Mexico. That evening, Sue Ellen got a phone call from Jamie's friend, who broke the news that Jamie died in a tragic hiking accident...
