Nothing and Everything at Once

Song 5

The screaming intensified each second. The excitement in every girl present rising as well. Trisha sat in-between Sarene and Kalli's sister, Britney. Sarene's cousin Rebecca sat on Sarene's other side. The opening band came out, Admiral Twin. They were good, although you couldn't hear them well over the screaming of all the girls.

"I want to buy a calendar!" Rebecca was saying. "I want another tee shirt!" Britney screamed. Trisha made a reminder to herself never to have children, they were too annoying.

Sarene took them to the sales area, leaving Trisha surrounded by eight year old brats all arguing over which Hanson belonged to them, and who loved which one more. She kept hearing the names Taylor and Zac a lot, but wasn't there another one?

"I love Taylor way more than you do. I've got 87 posters of Taylor on my ceiling, and 46 on my computer." one girl was saying.

The other girl's eyes nearly popped out of her head. "Now that's just a bit obsessed I think."

"I think you're both crazy. Zac is by far the cutest and the coolest. And I don't need 80 something pictures to prove I love him most."

"Yeah whatever." The third girl was obviously the third wheel. She was younger than the other two, and chubbier. Considerably younger and chubbier, actually. She sat next to Trisha as the other two continued to argue over which ever brother Taylor was.

"Hi." Trisha looked at the girl, who was near tears. She was almost desperate for conversation.

"Um...hi."

"This might seem dumb but uh...who are Zac and Taylor?"

"You don't know who Zac and Taylor are?" Trisha shook her head. "I'll point them out to you when the show starts."

"See Zac is the drummer. Isn't he amazing?"

Trisha nodded. She had figured out by now that Taylor was the keyboardist, because whenever he started talking or singing the other two girls started yelling "We love you Taylor!!!" It was almost enough to make her hurl. Zac, well, he was weird. He made all sorts of bizarre noises from behind his set and seemed to enjoy squirting the fans with water much more than any normal being. Then there was the guitarist. He was...he was...well, she didn't know what he was. She didn't even know his name. But he was a good guitarist. That was all she knew. He could play, REALLY well.

"What's his name?"

The girl glanced towards Isaac. "The guy with the guitar? That's Isaac. He's the oldest brother, but he's not nearly as cool as Zac."

The girl continued to blabber about Zac as Trisha thought about Isaac. She had no idea what he looked like, their seats were too far away, and she couldn't hear him well over all the screaming. But she could hear the guitar, she could envision his fingers plucking the strings. It was the only thing that allowed her to enjoy the concert.

The concert was over. Britney and Rebecca insisted on being the last ones to leave the concert. They succeeded. Trish had no clue why they wanted to wait, they thought they'd get to see Hanson. But they seemed to have forgotten that Hanson always left rather early after the show.

They walked around downtown. A limo drove by. A chorus of screams escaped Rebecca and Britney. The limo pulled over, and the girls ran to it.

The window rolled down and a familiar blonde face smiled. "Do you have any Grey Poupon?"

They burst into a fit of giggles. Trisha rolled her eyes. The limo sped off and the girls chased after it.

"We'll never catch them!" Britney gave up, she was out of breath. Rebecca continued to chase the vehicle until she was hopelessly behind.

Sarene ushered them back to the venue and to their car. "Maybe next time chicas."
