In 1960 Dick Ruff founded recration Unlimited to fulfill hs dream of providing recreational experiences for people like himself with disabilities. Soon after Jimmy Crum former WCMH-TV 4 Sports Director known for his zany sports coats and dedication to people with disabilities became a friend to Recreation Unlimited. And when Dick died in 1974, Jimmy and other community leaders ensured his dream would live on
Recreation Unlimited camps were held at other Central Ohio sites until 1989, when construction was completed on its permanent home a 160 acre campus in Northeastern Delaware County.
Today,Recreation Unlimited is a proud part of the Central Ohio and the Midwest community and with the support of the famous and not-so-famous we have provided accessible program opportunities for thousands of people
Our year-round campus is one of very few in North America specifically design to serve the challenged. Annually we serve nearly 5,000 individuals and their families
