INTRODUCING

SENIO R PROFILES

Our Seniors are our captains. We expect them to to lead! It is their last chance to make their mark. It should be a positive image that follows our school and community's rich heritage . It is with great pride that I introduce you to the 2000 Senior Cross Country Runners.

STEVE GARDNER Steve has found a measure of success in his running in the past. He has been a regional qualifier in both of the last two years. As a senior he needs to dedicate himself to his finest running. Steve has great potential. If his maturity takes his running to a higher level, we will be a force in our league and qualifying competitions. It will be interesting to see how this busy senior runner has prepared for his final season. A welcome addition Steve is expected to be a positive leader of our team. We need for him to develop his talents as so often comes with senior maturity. We will depend on this talented senior!

MATT KLEIN Matt has improved greatly in his last two years. He was a consistent #2 runner for us all last year. Matt continued to improve all through his track season and is more intense in his drive to excel. There is nothing to hold him back from his last hurrahs. This fun loving runner should help lead us all to more fun than we've had in a few seasons! A true competitor we expect Matt to hang tough with the front runners and let his desire propel him to the finish. There is no substitute for hard work and Matt has put a little more emphasis on that this summer. He has been working to develop his base for the success to follow in the season. Matt is a seasoned runner the team will count heavily on for his leadership & placements.

TODD MORELL Todd is the teams most valuable runner from last year. He lead all Quakers in every race. Todd is a workhorse that leads by his dedicated example. There will be no doubt about his role in our success this year and he accepts the challenge willingly. He has spent a whole summer preparing for a senior year to accomplish his goals. He will reap the benefits of being a more confident & disiplined runner. Todd's last season will be his finest and he earned it all the oldfashioned way, with hard work!

MIKE SEE Mike is a veteran of four seasons. He was awarded the distintion of hardest worker a year ago and is expected to demonstrate that same work ethic this year as he chases that elusive letter. The role of senior leadership takes on many looks but always has a foundation in hard work. Mike is up to that commitment and can earn that long desired legacy this year. His musical talents have kept him busy this summer but we expect him to tune up in time to be a competitive contributor. Mike will surely demonstrate to our younger runners what it takes to excel in this sport! There is no easy route to achieve his goals. It is just good hard work! He has coordinated his time between band and running in the past and he will do it again! One more time Mike! Just do it!

THE FINISHING KICK

"It comes like the electricity, it comes from every fiber, from your fingertips to your toes. It comes as broad waters come through a gorge. And you call on it all."
