FallFest was one great big happy weekend. Thanks to so many volunteers & staff, who made it all happen. Of course, there is still room for improvement... For instance, we'll be adding about 3 more shows in 2001! WooHoo!! You'll dig the line-up. I'll link you to the right page, when it is posted. For now, you can go to JamBands.com and read the excellent review of Fallfest 2000 on their site. I'm also hopeful that we'll have the music from the weekend available here, too, shortly.

Fall Hookahville was a fabulous time... it was wonderful seeing each & every smiling visage. Now I'm all warmed up for FallFest 2000 at Smoke Rise Ranch Resort . This is the little shindig that Sharon (my mom) & I put together last year for the first time -- and MAN, was it a fine time! The venue is 2000 acres of just beautiful private property with horseback riding, cabins, and RV hook-ups available. We have lots of space for vendors, and a bonfire where the all-night drum circle will yet again commence and thrive. This year we have: ekoostik Hookah, Vassar Clements, The Shantee, Peach Melba, and Matthew Abelson -- ALL of them play on BOTH nights!! Special guest Saturday: Station. AND the ticket price is the same old $30.00 in advance... See ya there!

I know, guys: I have no excuse... but I DO have NEW PICTURES!!!!! Hookahween99, Hookah NYE2000, Jeff & Jeanne's Wedding, and more stuff is being added today.
I may even update my tape list this month...?
Spring Hookahville 2000: WOW! David Grisman was so much fun (ask Ciggy to check out his pics) & Arlo Guthrie: OOOH YEAH!! Ratdog was fabulous... The only thing that could have improved on eh's already terrific performance was the addition of Bobby Weir for FOUR Tunes! One of which was the ChinaCat Sunflower which Ed said once I'd never get at a Hookahville... ;) Don't get any better that that!
Thanks to all those who make it possible.
You are the kindest family I've ever known, Keep up the good deeds! Hugs & Love, ChinaCat Jules
P.S. FallFest 2000: Sept. 29 - Oct. 1 at SmokeRise Ranch again.
It was heaven last year, so mark dem calendars!

Whew! It's been a busy month! On February 17th, it was the Dubba-meister's b-day! AND the final South Berg show! All on one night! Fabulous show ( 02/17 review ) I could hardly walk, but did I DANCE!! WooHoo! Then, Friday & Saturday, the 19th & 20th, at the Odeon in Cleveland, rode up with Cassidy & stayed at the Chopper Inn! What hospitable & kind friends we make down the line! Here are the reviews: 02/19 review and 02/20 review . See ya the Newport! Hugs & Schwa!

Started this year off right! My friend, CJ, many of ya know him as "Ciggy", drove 500 chilly miles to spend it at this year's Hookah New Year at the Newport. It was his first show & he had a blast! When his pics are online, I'll link ya to em... ( Jensenville ) Made many new friends & hooked up with many of the old! I wrote a review of the show.

There's also the matter of the CD Release Party (11/27/98 was it?). I made the treck to Cleveland for the Friday night show & was thrilled to meet SO many hookies! I danced so hard, it hurt to stop. I must dispell the rumor here & now: The man falling on me was drunk, i did not know him, or for that matter talk to him after the show. His girlfriend didn't seem to care that I had to keep standing him back up. Oh well! The music outweighed the workout! While I'm at it, I'd like to thank everyone for the after hours conversation (& cake).

The misery is half the fun as someone once told me. After I wrecked my car Friday & spent FIVE HOURS getting X-rays, I sorta thought I couldn't make the show Saturday. But I could & I did! It was so wonderful seeing & meeting all the Hookies from the hookahville list! There are some great pictures getting developed & will be on the Halloween Page Saturday 11/7/98. That's the plan anyway.

HALLOWE'EN AT THE NEWPORT!!!!! October 31st, in Columbus, Ohio, a mob of hippies, hookies, freaks, friends, family, and freedomheads will harmonically converge on the Newport Music Hall on North High Street across from The Ohio State University. You may not recognize us, as each & every one will be "incognito" (in costume-o). I'll be there & so should you. Are ya trying to tell me you'd rather hang out with your mom or your boss at that rockin' Punch-and-Corn-Chips Party?!?! I'll see ya there! When the pix are back, I'll post them on the Halloween Page , so check in November (AS IF you weren't PLANNING on it already!
I'll be the one dressed as a clown with no rainbow wig...

I first saw ekoostik Hookah as a student at University of Cincinnati at Kilgore's & I was instantly "Hook"-ed. The purpose of this page is to help Hookies & future-Hookies get to Hookahville. Enjoy the ride!
