This is the family tree from my mum's side. My uncle found a really old Jalleh family tree which dated back to about the 1600's or 1700's - I'm not too sure - but we couldn't find a link with any of the names! So this family tree is the one I learnt from relatives in Australia. It only goes back 4 generations but it DOES show how many Jallehs there are living in Australia right now! All - or almost all - of the descendants of Mary Jalleh ( daughter of Martin C. Jalleh ) are currently living in Australia. The rest of the family still reside in Malaysia or Singapore. I apologise if I've unwittingly left out any names because I don't know most of these people personally.
Jalleh is believed to be a French surname which was originally Jalley but I guess they changed it slightly so that the locals could pronounce it more easily. There are quite a few old Eurasian surnames like that. Anyway, this family tree doesn't trace back to our French ancestors. I've tried searching the net for Jalleh but there doesn't seem to be a family tree out there either. If you can add on to this tree, please mail me! I'll soon add in a list of the surnames somehow connected to both sides of the family.
