When Two or More Gather in Her Name
Saint Ignatius Loyola Parish Hosts Family Rosary
Night

On Friday evening, May 29, 2009, one hundred fifty
faith-filled believers gathered in Saint Ignatius
Loyola Church for a Family Rosary Night hosted by
the Parish’s St. Anne Mother's Prayer Group, and the
Rosary Makers. It was an amazing tribute to our
Blessed Mother in the Marian month of May and had
even greater meaning as the Parish continues to
celebrate its 150th Anniversary serving
the faith-filled community in Hicksville.
Those in attendance reflected the diversity of our
Parish Community, with a beautiful mix of English
and Spanish families, children and adults, young and
old. The Spanish community provided beautiful,
inspirational music in both English and Spanish
throughout the evening and in between the praying of
each decade of the Rosary.
Since we had just celebrated the Feast of the
Ascension and were preparing to celebrate Pentecost
Sunday, the Glorious Mysteries were prayed.
Beautiful pictures were projected on a screen to
assist those in attendance to meditate upon each
mystery, which was lead by a different family,
alternating between English and Spanish.
Afterwards all were invited over to the School for
pizza and an opportunity to enjoy each other's
company.
It was a beautiful evening of prayer and fellowship
that celebrated our diversity and our faithfulness
as a Parish Community and family for the past 150
years.
Below are
pictures from the Family Rosary Night.
