SSP: Can you start off by introducing and giving us a little background on yourself? Brandon: I was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, but moved to Vancouver, BC soon after I graduated from high school to work for my father. I later left to pursue career in music and formed a group called "Unknown". Being one third of a new vocal group I also became the engine behind the scenes; taking all responsibilities for marketing, promoting and all business associated with the band. With the group I played local shows, toured with Warner recording artists "Wave" and gained much media coverage, gaining fans across Canada.

In 2002 I decided to go solo, I had no songs I couldn't really play any instruments very well..not well at all actually cause I was always focused on my vocals. But its been almost a year and a half since then and much has been accomplished I have written every song on the album and have almost fully recorded the whole album.I have made very good contacts with major labels, artists and radio station directors and of course media..many newspapers across the country. I have very much matured and have found my voice and my passion. I originally always wanted to do R&B but the stuff I write about seems to come out so much better in rock and my voice has matured so much. I was always singing in the wrong place witch always got me confused when my voice got tired and run down so quickly I actually have much more deeper singing voce then I thought..although I can sing extremely high falsetto witch works out great in some parts of my songs.

I grew up listening to a very wide range of music genres, such as rock, jazz hip-hop, R&B, classical, pop and reggae. I have has been strongly influenced vocally and lyrically by artists such as Lenny Kravitz, John Lennon, Micheal Jackson, U2, Babyface, Boys II Men, Tracy Chapmen, Our Lady Peace and Creed just to name a few. Brandon's music would be classified as Pop/ Rock/ Soul, however I would prefer people to listen and judge the genre for themselves. My lyrics speak right from the heart, either coming from personal experiences or of those close to me . "My songs don't really give answers...they are written about how I felt at that particular time in the situation, letting the listener know that they aren't the only ones feeling that way." he states. Brandon has been working with the renowned Juno Award winner Patricia Dahlquist as his vocal instructor.

SSP: What's going on with your career at the moment?
Brandon: Well this is whets going on. I finished the album but after reviewing it ten million times..I felt that I needed to redo at least 3 songs. it has to be perfect before I let my first album out...first impression right..I have to also 100 percent proud of what I give to the public..and think of all the critics..if I know their is room to make it better then that's what I will do (thank god I don't have a manager..otherwise I would be fighting over that.) at the same time the CD illustrations for the cover and insert are done..and I have a music video scheduled to shoot soon as the album is completed (now delayed till December) the video will be shot by triton films who has done many Biff Naked videos and swollen members video. along with 200 other bands. so for my first time without any manager...I would say im not doing too bad. Its too late to have my CD on the shelves at Christmas..and for an indie artist it would be mad crazy to compete with the Christmas albums like Christina agulara etc..so I wait till the next good time to release..and that is in late January early FEB..this is for sure! I have also been talking with Radio program directors for along time and I have much support with getting airplay all over Canada..so its all set up..and yes I did that my self. In the mean time..I have a kick ass street crew in 7 different countries (Germany, Poland , Australia, new Zealand, brazil, Canada, USA). with a total of 50 key street crew representatives that flyer, post and use word of mouth to concerts and schools and events in their area..and they are really dong their job..cause I get an average of 250,000-400,000 total hits on my site a month!!!! I really think that things can be very good.because I have created this huge demand before even having one song out on radio..I have been promoting my album for the last 2 years...seems crazy but..hell it will ensure that I wont be a complete flop when I come out..and plus having so many people supporting me tells me that they already like my music!

SSP: Do you believe in love at first sight?
Brandon: I kind of do..you get that feeling right way that you are meant for each other and feel that you know its going to work..and you do end up getting very attached..but to be honest. I think that may be a lust at first site because non of my relationships that started like that lasted.. both parties have to be in love to truly be in love..you can't love someone if they just like you..I really think so..cause its a shared feeling...love isn't a one sided thing.

SSP: Do any of your tattoos have a special meaning?
Brandon: I have 4 tattoos..each one with a meaning. 1st one is the tattoo on my bicep..it says "strength courage and happiness" in Japanese fonts. I got it done to remind me to never give up and remind me to be strong during the week times of my life..igot it done when I made the decision to quit my dads company and pursue my music..at this time I sold all my belongings and moved to California!

2nd tattoo I got was the Scorpio symbol its the mix of a n actual scorpion and the actual astrology symbol mixed into one picture..I drew the pic its on my left shoulder..and its really something I think that all Scorpios put on themselves for some reason..lol always thought of scorpions as very fierce and aggressive..and I thought it would be cool I think its a symbol of my inner being..lol.

3rd tattoo is on my back right shoulder..its the sun..so many people have these now..but when I got it I only saw one person with this and that was in California..but now its so mainstream..but at least its not on the typical head of the shoulder..anyways I got it to represent my mom watching over me..case she is the one that always is..she's my rock! she's the one min person that believed in my talent that it can go places.

4th on my right side of my chest...its a Japanese symbol that says "dream"...hmm is it cheesy..yes it can me very cheesy..I think I got it because at the time..I was very scared of chasing my dream and I wasn't sure if I can make it..I thought if I stamped it on my chest and saw it every day..it would remind me that it was my commitment to do just that ..chase a dream..my dream. you see if I quit I would have to see that thing every day for the rest of my life and that would make be ill.

SSP: If you could go back in time and be the first to write a song by someone famous, what song would you want to write and why?
Brandon: Creed's song "6 feet from the edge" for some reason that songs is my favorite song..it means so much too me..and the way its played sung..everything..to me its perfect.

SSP: Have you ever done anything really romantic for a date?
Brandon: I think I have for sure..its not a big thing..when I did it it just felt romantic. allot of people think romance is flowers and expensive dining..and a walk on the beach..it really isn't..romance is a special feeling you get when both you and your partner are experiencing at the same time..its an innocent feeling. where you feel in love at the time also. hers my very short story....it was about 3:00 in the morning..and my and my girlfriend were sleeping together in my bed ...(she always slept over) I woke up all tired and stuff from the dead heat it was hot as hell and I looked at my girlfriend beside me and thought it would be so nice to be somewhere cool and cuddling so..I woke her up and told her to come with me ..and she's like what..where..all groggy..lol...I just told her I want to take her somewhere...and she said ok..and I told her to bring pillows and blankets..I also brought a candle. I drove about 30 minutes away while she slept in the car. when we arrived we were at yes a beach..a really nice beach and it was pitch dark..and it was slightly breezy so you can really feel the cool air..it was refreshing. She thought it was so awesome too..anyhow I set up the blankets and stuff super close to the water where you can here the water crashing and washing up and down on the beach. It was also near a huge log so it kind of gave more privacy..the sand was super soft so it was great. she lied down and I lit the candle and then went inside the blankets and cuddled with her really really tightly..and we slept there for the rest of the night until dawn and we both just woke up and watched the sun rise. then went home. That to me was the most perfect night I had with any girl..without sex or money!

SSP: Your house is on-fire and you have fifteen minutes to go in and get something out, what would you save?
Brandon: My guitar, my box of memories..(pictures and other stuff) and my small cabinet full of every love letter, birthday/Christmas/valentines cards from every girlfriend I had and from my friends family and girlfriends. Stuffed animals and letters from all the fans.

SSP: I'm sure alot of girls would like to know this, are you single?
Brandon: Very very very single.

SSP: Do you have any advice to those who wish to pursue a career as a performer?
Brandon: Yes...I do...#1 do not let people tell you you aren't good enough or that your crazy..people always told me that when I first started and now as things are starting to get somewhere they are all trying to be my friends ...its usually because they are jealous that you are chasing a your dream and they don't have the guts.. and they are just working on their boring 9-5 job and feel stuck..that's usually the case.

#2 Be consistent and work hard every day on it. if you really want that dream you don't just believe in it for it to come true..you have to work your ass off and totally sacrifice allot including friends..you cant go out as much if your serious you will notice how much time it takes to get far. you should also be able to look back every week and know that you accomplished something...you should always be further ahead every week.

#3 Be smart about everything and take criticism..some times it hurts but when you look at the big picture it can really help you. Step out side of your self when reviewing the critics and pretend its someone else. It doesn't always mean third right..but the ones that are really successful an tell if the criticism is good or not. know so many singers or painters and actors that think they have what it takes..but they don't..they think they are perfect..but they cant see that they need work..I know I can always do better sometimes its really bad because I am really hard on my self..but in the long run it makes me that much better. remember this...a artist always try's for perfection..and never really achieves it but always gets better as time goes by. that's why the artist usually always works at his or her craft till they die..because they are always learning and trying to do better. if you were perfect you would get board and quit.

#4 Don't expect others to take you to the top.always remember that the only real person that cares about you is you..so take allot of things in your own hand ..don't let people try to give you hand outs and or become financial partners..cause then you no longer have control of that dream you are trying to achieve..try to do as much as you can without any help...for as long as you can..and once you cant do anymore and your too busy ...then and only then let others try to help you..only if you really really trust them

#5 Make the demand..for yourself promote like hell and if your not good at that ..get friends to help promote you like hell..people wont know who you are unless you tell them. this is the key to being successful..many people like KID ROCK and SWOLLEN MEMBERS and JEWEL took things in their own hands..they come form totally different music genres..but all of them just created the demand..for some of them it took years but hell its better then making a Cd and having a record label tell you..that you suck and its not the right time for your music!
