My
sister Carmita died from complications of being a diabetic and just tired
of fighting for the last 2 years of her life. She was seeing doctors sometimes
3 to 4 a week and having all kinds of blood work and tests run on her and
surgeries. I can understand how she felt now after thinking of everything
she went through. he was a good sister and we loved her so very much
and still do. At least she isn't in anymore pain and we are thankful that
she is in the care of Jesus.
The following
is what I had her pastor read at her funeral service.
~IN MEMORY
OF CARMITA~
I am having
Randy read this because I would never be able to without crying. I'd like
to share a few of my memories of Carmita with everyone.
I was blessed
with having Carmita as my sister and friend. She was always there when
you needed her for one thing or another. She gave love to everyone and
for that she was so loved by others.
The one memory
that comes to me at this time is when we were kids and it was time for
raking the leaves. We always raked them into piles and then we'd start
separating them into rooms with doors and windows. That was our playhouse
in the fall.
We were normal
sisters, we had our arguments and differences, but we also had our friendship
that became so much better as we grew older.
I think my
best memories are of the day her and George married. The past fourteen
years were the best years of Carmita's life; she loved George so very much.
I'm so happy that they found one another. She was able to know how wonderful
married life was. George and her went places together and did so many things
that she would
of never done
had it not been for George. They both loved flowers and anything pretty.
They both did beautiful cross stitch. She would work on her cross stitch
when she couldn't sleep at night. The last thing she made was for George
as an anniversary gift. She had it framed and gave it to him on the
5th of October, their 14th
wedding anniversary.
I know that
the best thing that happened to her was when she met George, he helped
her to find Jesus and become a Christian. I won't worry where she is, but
I'll miss her so very much. She will never have anymore aches and
pain and no more hospitals, she was tired of hospitals.
As someone
told me Friday, Aunt Carmita is running and having a good time with Debbie,
Jill and Brandon. She loved angels and now she's with them, too.
I have my memories
as does anyone that knew her and we should all be thankful for those. I'm
not going to tell her "goodbye" today, instead I'll tell her, "See you
again sometime Carmita." Her new life will bring her happiness and joy
beyond what she had with all of us.
I'll love you
always, Carmita.
Your sister,
~Meredith~

LOVING MEMORY OF CARMITA~
~Author Unknown~
God looked
around his garden
and found
an empty place.
He then looked
down upon earth,
and saw your
tired face.
He put His
arms around you,
and lifted
you up to rest.
God's garden
must be beautiful
He always
takes the best.
He knew you
were suffering
He knew you
were in pain
He knew that
you would never
get well on
earth again.
He saw the
road was getting rough,
and the kills
were hard to climb,
So He closed
your weary eyelids,
and whispered,
"Peace be thine."
It broke our
hearts to lose you
but you didn't
go alone.
For part of
us went with you,
the day God
called you home.
