IN LOVING MEMORY OF 
MY BELOVED SON, CORY

Into my garden of life, God planted for me
One perfect rose, for the entire world to see
As I gazed at my precious rose, I became aware
Of the awesome power of love it came to share.

Exquisite in its beauty, standing tall and proud
Not like any other, unique among the crowd
Sharing its beauty, with all who came near
Lessons it was to bring, soon became clear

Unconditional love, radiance rare
Opening petals of love to all it held dear

Suffered the thorns of life, but stayed strong
Its leaves would dance for life was it’s song.

When it was time for my rose 
To leave its heavenly scent behind
It left for me a treasured gift
Love forever entwined.

Now as I gaze into my garden
Where my perfect rose used to climb
I see the little rose bud blooming
Again God’s perfect design.
