The
basis of mat work is to focus on Core Conditioning incouraging over
all body strength and flexiblity. You will learn to engage and properly
stabilize all four abdominal muscle groups, resulting in a longer leaner
look. Learning and understanding the Mat work is a great compliment
to any workout, whether it be Pilates, an athletic routine or everyday
activities. The five basic Pilates principles will be reinforced in
each class while new equipment like the Thera-Bands, Fitness Circles
or the Bosu will be added for additional challenges and variety.
